6 + 2 Point Deductions

If you only get a fine for breaking p&s rules there's nothing to stop Newcastle spending £1 billion on players and then just paying the fine
That's how I think it should be.. the rules should be spend whatever the F you want but anything over X amount is on the owner and can't be saddled onto the club as debt.

According to this, we have to.

The Premier League have introduced a new rule following Everton's Financial Fair Play charges last season which compels clubs with a recent history of overspending to submit their accounts three months before the rest of the top flight.

Under Rule E.48 clubs who are forecasting losses must file audited accounts to the Premier League by December 31 rather than the standard March 31 deadline.

The new regulation is an attempt by the Premier League to ensure that any disciplinary cases arising from alleged breaches of FFP rules are dealt with before the end of the same season.

It is Ratt Hughes, so take it with a grain of salt.

My point was that I Hope we don't have to because in the faintest hope that we aren't predicting losses that raise alarms. However if its also clubs with a recent history, well.....

Won't they do that regardless?
Yes.

But good luck catching Newcastle, City, United and Chelsea, ever.

You will counter that we cant anyway and thats probably true, but currently they are on ocean away, if they were allowed to spend what they want, they would be a Universe away and teams like us, Brentford and other clubs with skint or very bad owners would be better just ceasing to exist and take up knitting.

Someone said on here the other day that we’re not forecasting a loss for this financial year.

I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility that we’ve made a slight profit. All we’ve done is sell sell sell, release, sell, release.
My feeling is that a club that needs loans for its day to day business, is not really rolling in the dough.

But we shall see.

We sold released a few players, but we also signed some, plus sacking Lampard, Agents fees, loan repayments.

I dunno Mike, I really dont know, not saying you arent right, I just think we arent looking at the full picture.

At least if owners can spend what they want at least then we'd have some sort of chance if we get taken over by someone with loads of money.. currently Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Bill Gates along with the 10 richest kings in the middle east could come together and buy Everton and we'd still be stuck to limited spending.

That came from Ornstein.
Do you have a link? I know somebody said it but I couldnt find him saying it.

We had temporary unlimited spending.

We did nothing with it.

There needs to be changes in the FFP/PSR rules for sure, but letting teams do what they want is a very bad idea.

I know we think the rules suck cos we broke them, but the other 19 clubs(Not City of course!) in the league manage to abide by them, so it seems like an us problem to me.

Somewhere from around 32.15 mins onwards

We don't even have to break even. Losses are allowed.

Seeing as there's no way we have any sort of net spend recently, then any so-called breaches will be laughable and show exactly how out of touch the rules are.

Not really, as our issue is wages. That's like saying because Messi was in a free he counts as zero for p&s rules, despite costing his club £50 million a year or whatever it is.
