Correct, my mistake.Think that was pre premier league
Haha that being said a competent club wouldn't even be in this positionI maintain that a robust and competent legal team should very, very easily get all 10 points back without breaking sweat.
Let's hope we have 1 this time.
That's an awful lot of assumptions. That won't stop it happening. They'd just say it's the fault of the PL for allowing the Everton case to drag on into the next season without charging us. And they'd see the appeal processes about as independent as we view them.
I mean, I hope they are looking at that situation and frustrated aa we get crucial points shown back. But I cant see them having to face that.
Things are simple now. The Gordian knot has been cut. If we get points handed back the whole thing get's tied up in knots again.
It takes away another key struggler for them to get above.
That's like me saying to you we'd not be adversely affected if Forest were handed another 20 points for some reason.
The whole action of handing a 10 point deduction has given Luton a much more realistic chance of avoiding relegation. Their case would be "well what sort of system is in play here whereby we made no transgressions to any rules but a club who was deemed to have done so and was punished for it now gets points back and we're floored by it?"
Did the EPL ever hand points back to a club? That's where Luton have just come from. I cant remember a case.
That's an awful lot of assumptions.
You need to refocus yourself on the point of this injustice & not worry about teams that are irrelevant to us in this.
Using the words crystal ball is a bit kopite Dave.I don't think you need a crystal ball to see complaints fly in if we got anything like half our points back. It's end Luton's revival for sure.
There's absolutely zero chance of other clubs shrugging their shoulders if Everton got points back. None whatsoever. But it doesnt Dave. It also doesn't affect us if Forest get 'handed' 20 points. Our aim is still to finish above 3 teams. To do that we need to accrue more points than 3 teams, any 3 teams. That never changes, at any point, regardless. Luton need to worry about Luton, Sheffield and Burnley the same. Any manager of any worth will tell you that they only worry about their next game. If a manager is changing their tact based upon a complete unknown, which both finishing positions and a judgement under appeal are, then maybe they need to look at themselves for any issues. Also, Any board running a club will reasses what success is in January based upon their position, nobody else's. If we keep a 10 point deduction, they are in relegation places, if we get all of them back, they are in relegation places.
There is no way on God's green earth that any of the bottom 3 at the seasons end can look to sue us or the PL based upon our 10 point deduction whether it remains or not. To suggest otherwise is, in my opinion, beyond parody and so clear a wind up attempt that it is bordering on plain stupidity.
Quite frankly , We won't give a Gnats chuff what Luton think .I don't think you need a crystal ball to see complaints fly in if we got anything like half our points back. It's end Luton's revival for sure.
Luton 2023 or AC Milan 1990, who is better?People are putting forward good arguments here, btw. What they say I largely agree with because I, like them, hope we get our points back and are furious about the corrupt decision in the first place.
But what Ild say to them is this: their rational arguments may be incontrovertible as positions on the points deduction, and the context they add well thought out and unassailable....however here's the thing: we had those same solid arguments in place when the club went to face the charges and the PL and their panel ignored those sound arguments and carried out a mugging in any case...so why do people think there'll now be a reversal and the appeal panel will act rationally and fairly? What's persuading people that this different 'independent' load of PL puppets are going to see sense and relent?
That's just wishful thinking I;m afraid...and I think half of you know it too.
Milan players would be over 60 now so Luton would probably edge itLuton 2023 or AC Milan 1990, who is better?
I'm quite confident the 10 point deduction will be overturned.People are putting forward good arguments here, btw. What they say I largely agree with because I, like them, hope we get our points back and are furious about the corrupt decision in the first place.

I am less confident. Whatever they do they need to do it quick or they will be in terrible positionI'm quite confident the 10 point deduction will be overturned.
There will of course be a lesser punishment metered out.
This will have to be suitable for all parties to save face .
If not a further appeal and the risk of legal action is not what the Premier lge want in their current ( Govt regulation ) predicament.
