Basically, the PL saying they couldn’t care less about the players welfare (even though at that point he wasn’t charged and never actually was anyway) and that we should have sued him for 10m in losses.

Surely we could have sued the FA for the losses instead? Considering they are the ones that banned him despite him never being charged.

Imagine if we're 'x' points away from safety at the end of the season and then the appeal reduces the point deduction by 'x' points and we stay up and someone else goes down.

Which shows the absolute stupidity in making this immediate. It also completely affects the integrity of the competition. What if we win a game at the end of the season that sends another team down because we had to for survival but if we’d had 10 points extra we might have been on the beach.

They could have suspended it until next season, heard all appeals, and then started us off -10 if it was upheld next season making it fair for all teams. Instead they just wanted to make a scene for the independent regulator, see if they could relegate us, and at worse keep their tv viewing high for a relegation scrap that’s a starting to become a none event.

Not really bothered to be honest. Just look forward to games and try to enjoy them. We are only one win from climbing back out the bottom three now. We have known this was on the cards for some time. Rather than being annoyed with the league / commission etc... why not cast the blame where it belongs on our owner and the mis-management of the club. Other clubs will be dealt with.

Not sure how the Ukraine war affects our losses in 20/21, given the war (or at least Russia's new invasion, it technically started in 2014 annexing Crimea and Donbass/Luhansk) started in 2022

• Hearing about a potential overspend of just £19 Million, is this inquisition going to be even handed throughout the entirety of the football league? By that I mean is it -10 points per £19M overspend per club? Because I've a feeling such even handedness would liquidate a fair few clubs, and what's the retrospective time frame for such?

Well, partly, we got fined 10 points because a player was accused of something, the FA immediately deemed him to be guilty without trial and banned him from playing. we decided not to take it out on the player (who's charges were never proved) due to player welfare concern and the PL are punishing us for that.

You’ve just said “if we were in Villa’s position a 10 point deduction wouldn’t hurt us in the slightest”. Well it would take us from 5th to 12th, so yes it clearly would.

I’d imagine the appeal is in already. Considering the club had the verdict a while ago.

I read somewhere about 12 weeks for the appeal. But don’t know if that’s until the appeal panel, or time until an outcome etc
