6 + 2 Point Deductions

the johnson sale is important for us as their arguing the waited to get the best price hence why the are over... We sold Ritchie early to try and keep in rules..
I hope they do argue that. Knowingly breached rules to gain an extra pot of money to invest in his replacements. i.e. deliberate breach to gain a sporting advantage.

For the longevity of their club, they did absolutely the right thing. But the wrong thing in terms of compliance, which is why it’s all so stupid. The two should be aligned.

Said this before but imagine being an old lad who's been going for 60, 70 years but doesn't keep up with all the off-field regulations, or some young kid who's just getting into it, and having it explained to you that the points you watch your team winning keep disappearing because a number on a spreadsheet is larger than another number someone pulled out their arse.

I'm perfectly in the middle of this.

My old man has been going to the game since the 60s with his Dad and brothers and more recently me. He'll be absolutely heartbroken.

Add to that my 2 kids (both younger than 3)... what is going to be the state of football as and when they show an interest in it?

It would mean the world to my Dad to take his Grandson to his first Everton game - whether that's at Goodison or Bramley Moore - but what's the point if our league positioning is determined by money, not the competition on the grass?

Frantically refreshing X and BBC Sport for news on foolishness. Haven't even got feedback from our original appeal. They say 3 years upto 2020-2023. PL really want us down. Such conflicting emotions because we're striving to be in a league that's run by a corrupt organisation we despise.
Everyone who was so desperate to keep the scab 6 in the league should hang their heads in shame.

The league has now bent over backwards to create an environment where all the other teams are forced to sell cheap to them.

That was their “punishment” for the super league.

Well if we try running the club properly we will be judged by our performance on the pitch. I feel sorry for the supporters and to an extent for Dyche and his coaches but we're in a mess of our own making, albeit I agree the penalty has been disproportionately harsh.

You'd hope common sense when reviewing our transfer spend in that period will prevail in any punishment hearing.

Unless the £19.5m overspend over 3 years last time dictating a 10 point deduction is now the model no matter what.

Still find it incredible they refused all our mitigation for that £19.5m overspend over 3 years. Our main sponsorship, and £200m+ naming rights deal was pulled from under us with Russia's war and our record signing was arrested ffs.

Called all this in November before the first hearing. Been saying Forest (and Wolves) would be in a bad mess too. A point had to be made for political reasons by the Prem, and rules would be changed before Man City and co.

It's Niasse style punishment;

The timing of this makes me nervous. The Premier League desperate to show they can be trusted to regulate.

If I understand correctly, come Man City/Chelsea, it'll be a different government backed regulator who will likely take a 'don't punish the fans' approach - massive fines then, back into grassroots.

I'm sure some will come along and look to correct me, but it feels very Oumar Niasse "successful deception of a match official" to me.

It would be typical for nice guys/whipping boys Everton to be the first mugs to be made an example of to take the punishment, before the punishment framework/regulator changes.

If there's a point deduction, the club should take it screaming and shouting and drag the Premier League through the mud as much as possible with finger pointing and whataboutery.
