Each to their own mate.

But if he was way off the mark over the finances, why wouldn't they want or ask for a retraction and apology ?
I dont get this at all, this insistance that everyone is somehow entitled to know everything that goes on in the club, and that they should somehow bow to the whims of people who choose whether or not to spend their money on them. Yes, the fans are important, to any team, but at the end of the day, its a business and we are customers. This constant demand for "communicashun" is tiresome, and is mostly driven by the likes of Ped and Toffee TV, who have a business that relies on Everton content. Therefore they have an agenda.

Of course they want to know whats happening, because then they talk about it and charge idiots to listen to them stutter their way through live streams or basic pronunciation (Im just glad we didnt sign that "Innyatcho").

How many other businesses come out and tell everyone whats going on in the inner workings of the business, including rivals btw, because there is, as yet, no way of providing "communicashun" to fans without everyone knowing

We might be badly run, but some of these people, driven largely by their own selfish needs and interests, need to understand that we are owed nothing from the club, especially just so these people can then peddle their own smug authority for social media likes and subscriptions.

Highly unlikely.

I feel the above is veering slightly off but I do agree with the sentiment. Of course we would all like to know exactly what the state of play is at the club, but you're right no one is ever going to come out and tell you as that would almost certainly be damaging to the business. So you get little bits here and there like Moshiri's interview in January as the club try and give the fans something they've asked for, which ends up of course being derided for just being lip service.

The truth is if we were winning not a lot of people would care about this so let's hope we start accumulating points sooner rather than later.

True. Maybe I look at this stuff through the prism of my old life. (Commercial property).

I own (ish) a semi detatched, 3 bed cottage in a highly desirable little corner of the UK. It needs some decorative work. New kitchen most likely.

But it sits on a plot of land that could easily cope with 3 large new builds, or one absolutely massive one. Time aint right atm, but owning it could unlock the potential for the rest of plot. A mini Liverpool Waters if you like.

Thats the thinking, I think.
Ooh aah baron.

Fans aren't just customers. As covid proved, they are a very large part of the fabric of the club and the final product, and secondly, over 1500 of them are in-fact part-owners too. If the club has been poorly run and there are concerns about prospective decisions or new owners, they have every right to voice those concerns and to seek information. Owners and supporters' best interests are not always the same thing and if they start to diverge, the owners should always be questioned.

TBF, anyone who knows the history of this club knows that there's always been a healthy situation where the rank and file hold the board of the club to account, going right back to when the club was first formed into a ltd liability company. It didn't start with fans being viewed as consumers and then demanding information in the era of the internet.

This is part of the DNA of Everton.
