BBC Sport understands there are no concerns from the UK government regarding the Everton sale as it is a matter for the Premier League to deal with.

Surprised by that, I'd have thought there would be some concern about who profits - this was only a few months ago;

The Treasury’s sanctions police have been reviewing the finances of the Everton Football Club owner, Farhad Moshiri, the Guardian understands.

Moshiri appears to have become a person of interest to the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) because of his links to Alisher Usmanov, the Russian-Uzbek billionaire who was sanctioned by the UK, the EU and the US after last year’s invasion of Ukraine.

even their logo has the arrow pointing down. thats truely where we are headed with this lot

Can they sack Dyche yet?
Tell you what it does make things more interesting.

He won't get as much time as what Moshiri would have given Dyche this season (who we know from experience never had any candidates in their horizon should the manager need removing and took far too long to make decisions).

I
Positives - Moshiri gone, Stadium will be finished without money issues, actual businessmen on the board

Negatives - the group’s reputation, given protests at some of their other clubs, Moshiri selling to who he wants to, not to the best for the club
I think Moshiri just wants to get out asap, and I don’t blame him.
Can’t expect to hound him out but only on our own terms.

So 777 don't get a great press. My main concern is that they'll somehow separate Stadium asset from Club. I.e. they pick up a bargain stadium and infrastructure and the club end ups debt laden, with only partial ownership of the ground.

Ah yes, that would be peak financial acrobatic bullcrap wouldn't it. They'll simply dissolve the club and restart it. "1878 who? Everton was founded in 2023. The FFP breaches were some other guys."

Interestingly, the boy scouts of america had to do exactly that in order to avoid litigation for decades of sexual abuse cases racking up. They "saved" themselves and screwed over a large, unknown number of victims thanks to ruthless U.S. classic corruption.

Not sure how they pick up a bargain stadium.
The cost so far will have been in the sale price, and it still needs funding to finish.
We could just as easily say, they are getting a team that with the new stadium and any new broadcasting deals could be worth a hell of a lot more, if they can sort out the running of and commercial side.

Hopefully we can get more information on it now, if how others have said then another person looks like to have gone in with them to put money down. It still has to be done by the league aswell, also if does fail other groups could come in now has come out he wants out. Cant really say i am happy with 777 but if it is them we must keep them under control cant let any new owner destroy this club

Moshiri giving a manager time? I’ll be following you for more funny jokes. Good one.

The worry for me is that they sell the stadium, lease it back to the football club and then sell up.

As stadium owners they get the benefits , sale proceeds pay off their debt acquired to buy the club and the club are left as tenants enjoying none of the benefits of owning the stadium.

Ive no doubt, we've been gangsters we can call it morality or legality - we both can accept we've bent every rule going (at best) mate.

I still say the dude, forgave a lot of our sins financially and that inevitably creates a vacuum now he is going that will need to be filled. 777 show no evidence of adding value to improving management of clubs that they are at - or investing. We cant take on anymore debt. So there is only one other way of raising revenue, to fill the vacuum - selling assets.

My point being, we definitely can go rungs down the ladder to what we have experienced up to now. They can be worse then Moshiri - absolutely. ;)
I'm under no illusions at all these will finance a golden age of player acquisition, or that they are the owners I've always dreamed of. And things can of course get worse.

I'm just talking about the path that we were on, on the fringes of both legality and solvency, under the Moshiri and Usmanov dream team. I believe their continued presence at this club is a threat to our existence. I'm not at all convinced 777 will deliver success but anything that gets M&U out the door removes a significant immediate threat.

They must have rock solid assurances that no points deduction is on the horizon. No way somebody hands over £500m if there's a large chance the team will be relegated.

One thing that is potentially interesting is we would have easy options to send players out on loan to get experience, and would be first in line to take the best players from any team 777 is affiliated with. Liege is always good for a youngster.
