I've supported Everton my whole life since watching the magnificent team of the 80's. I've been through the generally shocking tines since (especially the pre-moyes 90's) and in general loved the moyes era of pienaar/baines down left, the hairs standing on back of neck when you see a passionate cahill punching the corner flag after an amazing header etc.etc.
I wake up in the mornings and look on newsnow Everton, be part of the forums, watch our football when I can get a stream, watch the training vids when they come out, watch toffee tv, watch all the drone footage of the new stadium. Etc. Etc.
It's never ever been something I have considered, not even sure it's possible to do to try and ween myself off the club.
Ask myself do you stick with the mental health trauma whether we go into administration or not, whether we end up in league 1 or not.
Can it be done, I've no idea. But I do realise that it's a tortured existence that does genuinely affect your everyday mood and mental wellbeing. Should supporting football, which is just a sport at the end of the day, put you in the sort of constant negatively that's in the background of everyday life.
I've little doubt that even putting this out there will open up the ' well your not a real fan'.
I'd say currently, I spend way too much time thinking about EFC and allowing the anger and state of the club to get me down on a day to day basis.
It's a weird thing to even consider.
