A new sense of expectation.

Moyes kept this whole ****ty EFC board in a job,I just can't see anyone putting up with what he had to for 11 yrs,I'm one worried man coz we are SKINT!!!

Me neither. But people like to be right. It's hardly a new take on psychology to realise that. And the more people who tell them their opinion is stupid, the more they want to be proved right.

It's a bit daft though isn't it, wanting your football team to fail so you puff to your chest to a bunch of made up Internet names.

This isn't aimed at you.

Kenwright has to get the choice right first time. We don't have the money to allow the wrong manager to spend £15 million or so and fail. His replacement would then be left with players he may not want and no funds to bring his own in. Dangerous times.

I would have Martinez. Done his apprenticeship at Wigan, unlikely to move on right away if a so called bigger club came knocking, he would probably build a similar relationship with Kenwright as he has with Whelan. Also, has an eye for a good player. Safest option.

A lot depends on the "ambition" of the board. Do they they just want a "yes" man? or will they appoint someone who they believe can REALLY take the club forward and then back that person financially (obviously within reason). Personally, I don't like all this talk about Alan Irvine/Stubbs/Neville,etc. How about a big name? What happened to Nil Satis Nisi Optimum?!!

We all know Bill won't spend anything he hasn't got and I don't blame him. Look at Leeds 10+ years ago mortgaging the club in the hope of getting into Europe and failing.

In all honesty I would take top 8 for the next few years playing attractive football under Martinez while hoping a tycoon can be found to pump money onto the club and move us up.

Kenwright got fortunate with Moyes as he let him virtually run the club and Moyes was competent enough to do that...I really doubt he'll be so lucky for a second time. Personally, I am absolutely crapping myself about who he'll entrust with the future of the club. Would rather have someone other than Kenwright making this decision
