Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

At 27 he is in his prime and on his day he is class.
Like we keep saying the prices are all over the place.
I don't think where we end up this season will have any influence on how much we will get for him, look at QPR if they go down they will still get over the odds for Austin

Right, again, terrible comparison.

Austin is clearly QPR's best player
playing week in & week out
Scoring goals
Plays a position that casts more than any other.

Different teams. Those teams have a hard time attracting players so they pay over the odds both in terms of transfers and wages.
Southampton is a far more attractive proposition than Hull mate...
As a general rule transfer fees have drastically risen as a result of tv money meaning all clubs can spend more. Kevin will not be cheap, as we hold the hand and can get market value...

You just don't understand that
#1 proven high level quality in the league
#2 on contract for two more years so we hold the cards
#3 market value has drastically risen over last few years with average and unproven players selling in excess of 10 million.
He won't go cheaply and we'll get a fair amount of money if he does leave.

He will go for nowere near £20 million, and im sorry but YOU just do not get it, if you think he will.

I'm not worried about Kevin tbh
Either a Champions League club is prepared to meet asking price or they aren't and he doesn't go. Still has two years on his contract this summer, so we hold the cards. And as I explained above, asking price will be 20 million or thereabouts, perhaps Even more given the rising transfer fees and prices.
We really don't.

At the moment it makes sense for both player and club to part ways but the longer it goes on the weaker our position becomes.

We'll see. Hopefully you are right.

Why not? Back up your assertion with facts.
These are the facts. Has scored and assisted plenty in the league and so is a proven high class performer over the course of a season, albeit on a game to game basis inconsistent as all wingers are barring perhaps the top ten in the world. Has two years left on contract as we have engaged the additional year extension. Hence we still hold the cards in this regard. Transfer fees have risen Significantly due to the new TV deals. As we hold the cards we will get fair market price for him. Market price is about 20 million. Context is your friend when it comes to football...

mirrallas wont be part of any deal for Lennon simply because Mirrallas wants champs league football and Spurs have a snow balls chance of getting it. Mirrallas will be off to somewhere like Galatasary , maybe even Athletico. If Spurs want 36mill for Lennon then give them it .

Not a terrible comparison.
You said a club around the relegation zone would not get top dollar for a player and my point is they will.
Wigan themselves got 15m for mCcarthy

There's no way Kev is a 18m pound player. He's not even worth 13m.
I've just seen Andre Schurrle go for 22m after playing only 40 games. Maybe its just me but i don't recall him making anything of an impact at Chelsea to justify that sort of price tag. Spent more time sitting on his arse watching from the sidelines.

So how you can say that Mirallas, who is our best attacking and most dangerous player is only worth about half of what Schurrle went for is strange.

Even if Kevin does submit a transfer request, we still have him on contract for two years yet and as such if teams don't meet what we're looking for, he can stay here. We'll get a fair price for him...

Thing is with any of these raw pace wingers, they are gone by 30.

I liked the way Lennon celebrated his goal at QPR. I liked the way he celebrated at the final whistle.

Whatever money changes hands along the way, we the fans can not change it.
It doesn't matter what I think a player is worth. It doesn't matter if I am right or wrong about the valuations.

My role as a fan is to want the best players and fume when we lose. ;)
