I dont think so. I think they have changed that in recent years. I think he'll definitely be playing in the Sheffield Wednesday game now.

He's been great mate, we've needed a no 8 for a while with variance and different but complimenting attributes in their game and he offers us terrffic balance.
I can see the logic of where some lads are coming from, wouldn't agree - but im reminded of Fellaini, i remember on here huge debates about being defensive midfielder an 8, an 8 and a half and even a forward. Some times all those things can exist in a players game and they can offer variance and offer different roles and skill sets even during a game.

Another solid dependable lung busting showing from the Duke - a solid 7 outa 10 most weeks, and occasionally 8s or 9s.
I don't see what peoples problem is - he is exactly what we have needed in the engine room for years and it's just even better that the lad seems to be loving it at Everton!

I think it's more aimed at his defending for their goal, he was beaten so easily by their fullback.
He's been a good signing all in, brings a lot of energy to the midfield. Would like to see more goals from him.
....he’s giving us much needed energy and ‘legs’ so we’ll miss him, but suspensions & injuries happen, you have to deal with them.

Thought he was suspect on the ball but his drive and determination is always there. Would love to have seen his heat map from yesterday, seemed to be absolutely everywhere.
Guy has one dodgy game and people are back on the train. Seems mad when he's been arguably our best player over the last month
Becoming an important player - one of the first on any team sheet but I thought he was pretty poor yesterday.

Personally think he's struggling from a crisis of identity in that midfield. So many different partners that make him have to play too many different ways.
