I’m not entirely sure how you can watch this bloke and think he’s a good player tbh

He's a decent at best player who will function well when he's not gonna be the focal point. For example, he looked very good with James and Allan in the side when they all came in, were you slagging him off then? Nah - he did a good job, did what was asked, carried a lot of water for the team.

We need to stop wasting money on a lot more things and players and also their severance packages, not on players who are good enough to play. He also didn't exactly cost us that much and is in no way shape or form "the reason why we're so low in the table".

I might not have been slagging him off but I was certainly able to see that he wasn't performing particularly well. I find it mad how people remember that start to last season as if we were magnificent, we were conceding 2 goals a game pretty much every week, the midfield was all over the place.

To me Doucoure is almost a one man embodiment of what's wrong with the club. He's a player who we overpaid for, at the wrong age, with an underwhelming PL career already, who doesn't really have any stand out attributes. Our midfield is easily the biggest problem we have in my opinion, we can pretty much never control a game and have it played on our terms because the midfield can't really do anything particularly well. Doucoure has poor positional discipline, no creativity, no ability to move the ball around, doesn't score, and isn't a great tackler. He's a bits and pieces player who has 'a good engine' and can stick his foot in here and there but can't really impact a game in any meaningful way. He's not the worst player on the books, but we won't be improving much while players like him are getting regular games.

I agree with everything but the last part, I think he genuinely is the worst player we have. It's like him or Kenny.
