Yeah but we'll still need at least 1 and he's good at it and also decent passing, you get me?

No. I see a few clubs with players who can do both. Not even at the top clubs .brighton have a few who graft and look comfortable passing a ball in midfield.
Why is it so hard for Everton to do this in the transfer market

Well he's not going to keep saying it once talks have started is he. Ancelotti clearly wouldnt have gone for doucoure unless a third party was involved. And rightly so. I dont dislike him. He's a trier, most of the time. But his technical side and passing is a reason we are so low in the table. And he got relegated with watford.
We need to stop wasting money on players like this.
We deffo need to stop spending 25-30m on what are at best decent squad players.

Worryingly Doucoure is way down the list of problem players at the club for me.

Because we have them - last game out we came out and played football with Andre Gomes and Doucoure in midfield. The thing is we have no structure or balance to the team, to go with the lack of backbone, so anything happening demolishes us.

Half the team needs to be out the door, but Doucure isn't the first name on that list in any circumstance. I'm okay with him staying for a year and us getting better players around him (and in general, obviously). As I said - in the Ancelotti days he was somewhere between average and good, consistently. We also need that. We also need a good playmaker, another right back, about 17 players out the door and so on and so on.

You need to speak to Zatmania, he actually doesnt think the money has been wasted.

I'm not in a mindset of a race to the bottom, behave yourself. :)
The point is, Doucure is not the sole reason we're here - he's not even our worst player. He's a limited player, much like a lot of other midfielders, who will, again, do a job for a stable team where he's not the playmaker. Unluckily, it's not what we currently need. Gueye was the same but even more defensively oriented.
I have always found Gueye to be a vastly underrated player.

The way he was always available for a pass made it look effortless. He was great at just knitting play together, receive the ball and then give it to the more "gifted" players.

Yeah, was a big fan before he even kicked a ball for us. We also need those players, but at this point - what don't we need ffs

Agree. And it was basically the point.
Doucoure
Godfrey
Keane
Iwobi
Thats nearly 100m spent there.
I defy anyone to say we did well there in the transfer market.
Its been an issue.

Mate i stopped at andre 1 in 10 gomes.
Im bailing out of this plane now after that.
Apologies. Can only take so much.

Aye, those profile of players should be 5-10m squad fillers. Godfrey had a ton of potential, still has I suppose but it's a lot of money to be paying for potential.

Even worse we have had the likes of Tosun Kean and Gbamin rotting away and have not even remotely missed them. In the past that would have been a Joe Max Moore nominal fee punt type of player not a bloke who cost just under 30m (even taking inflation into account). Its way too much money for a club like us to just keep writing off. I get the Kean deal but Gbamin and Tosun even if they did well, we were never seeing the money we paid for them ever again.

1 in 20 more like tbh, but we looked like a football team. With him in it!

Granted, for 15 minutes, then red card and heads lost. But we did!

What annoys me is teams like brighton picking up players like enock mwepu. Great little passer. Great little player. Would walk into our midfield. Signed from salzburg for the same money we payed for doucoure or gomez.
Our recruitment in the main has been atrocious.
