Inherited??? He’s always had them. He’s effective in a certain way, similar to McTominay at Man Utd - best work off the ball, running to the box and a decent finisher. He’s been a good signing for us. Suits Dycheball, a style where you actively don’t want players in possession or to be on the ball. With the ball he sucks but Dyche doesn’t care about that, it’s not what he looks for in a player or why he’s in the team.

Agree if he is going to play it needs to be deeper but currently i would put him on the bench
