Arsenal could have won the league this year if they had a CB to cover for injury. They had it in their own hands. It is only a couple of years ago that your neighbours won it. IMO, blaming oil owners is just a deflection by fans for not looking at the problems they have at their own clubs. Yes, money is essential but it doesn't need to be the level of money that PIF has.And none came close to having any chancw of remotely winning the league .... is my point.
Look how a couple of competent signings and better organisation allowed Villa and Newcastle to climb up the league in the second half of the last 2 seasons.I agree we have to realistic on where we are. Two religation scraps in a row, I expect a third. We can't expect the club to be buying world class players. Especially as we don't have a big pot of money. But we don't have to like it and we absolutely have to work to better it.
Hopefully we'll be be safe a little earlier this season. Get better with a mixture of hard work, improved organisation and hopefully improving the quality of players we sign. It's going to take a long time to be challenging for Europe again. But it has to be noted that there wasn't a big gap between midtable and 3rd from bottom last season. If that trend carries on, a large improvement of finishing position isn't against realistic achieveability.
No not asking for too much. I believe just by being well organised, we should get at least 4-6 points more than last season. Palace improvement under Roy Hodgeson, proves that. Dyche is a lot better at setting up a team than Lampard was.Look how a couple of competent signings and better organisation allowed Villa and Newcastle to climb up the league in the second half of the last 2 seasons.
I’m not saying we could do it also because we’ve barely got two pennies to rub together and a car crash of a squad, but we need to somehow claw our way through this season and try and be safe sooner and give us some optimism that things are actually starting improve.
Not asking for much am I?!
If you doubt your powers, you only give power to your doubtsIf you accept defeat you will be defeated every time.
Load of Rubbish. Mosh has taken a huge financial hit. There is no way out of this for him without accepting a massive loss on his investmentAnd the result of that would have been a financial disaster for Moshiri as he would have been forced to firesale Everton and take the hit personally. But he is hanging in there with Everton Football Club taking the financial hit as opposed to him.
I agree, don't think we're deluded too, just think we're punch drunk and tired and lashing out is the only thing that helps.….I wouldn’t call Evertonians deluded, I think we know only too well the situation the club us in.
Transfers are a matter of opinion & fans have different views on specific targets or strategy.
First of all I didn't say Moshiri hasn't taken a huge financial hit, I am not sure where u got that from. But, I suspect his financial hit is less than many think it is as Usmanov has taken the main hit imo. Further, there is a way out of this for Mosh to not only avoid a loss but to make a profit. If he can keep Everton in the PL and get into the new stadium he could sell the club to somebody for more than he has put into it which would mean profit. Give it a break lad... the kind of money that has been wasted at Everton isn't going to be recovered anytime soon. Keeping us in the Prem with these owners is an expectation that even the most hardy Blue will recognise as fantasy. Have you actually understood what has happened in the last few years?First of all I didn't say Moshiri hasn't taken a huge financial hit, I am not sure where u got that from. Yeah, but the point is Moshiri getting his money back, he has not put all of the money 'wasted' on Everton into the club. Everton is a PL club moving into a new stadium. A decent manager, a few good signings and Everton is in the 1Bn+ price range. The money in the PL is huge, it is not that difficult to have a club with 200m+ revenue.Give it a break lad... the kind of money that has been wasted at Everton isn't going to be recovered anytime soon. Even Tom Brady is investing in Birmingham City.... no-one with a brain wants a piece of Everton.
Oh really... only 8 clubs in 2022 had reported income above 200 mil and two of them were Leicester and West Ham. There's a whole host of clubs in the 150m to 180m and that is because of TV money. Most clubs don't have the income streams of MUFC, Chelsea, Spurs, MCFC. Even Arsenal are 250m short of MCFC although they are trying to make a decent fist of competing.Yeah, but the point is Moshiri getting his money back, he has not put all of the money 'wasted' on Everton into the club.
