I'd jib him off and give jelavic/kone/anichebe the time they need to settle into the 'new era' and hopefully sign another quality striker. Lets face it, vellios is hardly showing any attribute that's going to get him a consistent place in the squad ..

Probably feel he needs the minutes more due to the others being away on international squads, what pre-season is all about to be fair.

Agreed. Velios looked good again tonight. Strong, worked hard and unfortunate not to get a goal. Maybe could've reacted quicker and got across his man when the ball was played in low from the flank one time (from Baines I think), but did well overall.

Connor Grant definitely one for the future too.
