Agreed. I think it sends the wrong message if Silva now doesn’t give him a go.
You’d presume Silva would of told him you’ll get your chance if who ever is in front of you let’s him down. Walcott surely has.
Has to get his chance now, or it really could send Lookman back to the previous poor attitude state, and in this instance I’d understand it

He’s had several, to be fair. Lookman deserves a chance to start a few matches himself and see what he can do. If he’s not going to be given a few starts and proper opportunities even when the likes of Walcott are having a poor run, then what’s the point?
If he doesn’t get starting opportunities soon then he’ll have every right to sulk IMO.
