Ademola Lookman

I wouldn’t mind seeing him start, but I’m not sure he gives us the runs in behind or the playmaking that Walcott and Bernard bring. Would love to see him get a shot though.

Oh me too, Don't get me wrong I am not against him playing, it's just the wording some people use.

He is someone we could use no doubt, he doesn't "deserve" anything though.

...certainly deserves a start but I wonder if Silva sees him as a left sided option in competition with Bernard.

Carragher correctly said in commentary yesterday how ‘brave and comfortable’ Everton are in passing the ball and keeping possession in tight areas. I suspect this is why he’s starting Bernard. He can link with Gomes et al who all have a real belief in their ability against the best opposition.

Lookman has a tendency to lose possession, so if he gets a start I imagine it will be in a home game where we might dominate anyway. I wouldn’t be surprised, though, if he’s starting on the left.

If Walcott is playing poorly then yes...others DESERVE a chance.

Based off what exactly? We are on a decent run of form right now regardless.

Managers don't play the wrong players for the hell of it. He will know when Lookman (or anybody else) deserves a chance or not. All we as fans can do is base it off what we see on the pitch and what exactly has Lookman done to deserve a chance? he is an option certainly and I do hope he gets a go but he has not played well enough to make his selection an obvious thing either.

How is Walcott cementing his place?

How is Walcott cementing his place?

I didn't once say he was.

We area bloody weird set of fans though. We are on a good run of form, just stood toe to toe with one of the better teams in the league away from home and the first thing we want to do is change things up.

Our current set up is working. Walcott is on a poor run compared to the others, but if that's the team he thinks can compete (and it is being proved right so far) then why change it so quickly?

There is nothing wrong with what we are currently doing.

I was really impressed with his work rate yesterday, tracking back and covering Digne really well. A big improvement in his attitude imo.

Still think he is better coming off the bench.

Walcott has been poor and for me needs to be replaced either in January or next summer however im yet to be convinced Lookman can offer us any better.

For me let him come off the bench and continue to make an impact. If Gyfi is out for Cardiff I wouldnt mind seeing him start in the number 10 role however.

I have noticed some slightly worrying signs with Walcott recently. He has been a little unlucky and that has affected his confidence I think. That lack of confidence is now affecting his performance and decision making imho. He now appears so desperate to get off the mark that he is shooting when he should be passing and fluffing his lines when he should be more composed in a scoring position.

I think it might be time to give him a rest and put Lookman on in his place.

He has improved his work rate and defensive duties though.
