And for RBL.

Didn't he more often than not play as a striker in a 3-5-2, and then as one of the 2 attacking mids (but they drifted wide) in a 4-3-2-1?

Not saying he didn't play in a creative role (and I'd like to see him there), just not sure if it was in a 4-2-3-1 like we play?

No idea sorry mate didn’t really catch them when he was there.

It is good to a have a few selection headaches for a change. He may well slot in as a number 10 instead of Benard. I do agree he needs to start to see if he can push Walcott at least.

If Gylfi is out vs Cardiff, drop Bernard central and let him win fouls on the edge of their box all day long.

Dowell can't play that role. He's not got it in him to press. Bernard can at least get on the ball and make something happen. An alternative like you say could be Richarlison.

But personally I'd go Walcott - Bernard - Lookman as the three behind the forward.

Yeah, either that or tosun back up front. Let's be honest, warnock is not going to attempt for anything other than a draw so there won't be much space in behind, but then again, richarlison got two getting in behind Brighton who set up like that, so probaly no need to change.

I'll never get tired of him turnin and burnin...he still has much to learn but the natural talent is there. Kinda tired of saying that about so many young players though, it's really up to him to knuckle down and adopt a professional mentality to his overall game. Hope he can do it, he's exciting to watch.

For the first time yesterday I can see why we didn’t accept the final bid made for him. At the time I thought that’s decent money for a kid who doesn’t want to stay and we don’t seem to have a spot for... over the moon we kept him now... looks to have grown as a player significantly. Looked very composed with the ball. Impressive performance.

Want to add.. I wouldn’t start him yet. But he deserves and will excel with 35 minutes every game and a start now and then... perfect for his development.

I’ll have a browse on Transfermarkt tonight. Just know he was deffo more central than wide. RBL tended to play a 4-2-2-2 formation anyway from memory.

Yeh, sorry that's the system I meant, not 4-3-2-1!

He played as one of the strikers or occasionally one of the 2 behind them.
