Ademola Lookman

He played a part but I said there was no end product and given he tried to shoot in a one on one and didn't score I'm pretty sure despite the goal on the rebound he still didn't produce the end product.

Lookman missed a clear chance too. Walcott created the chance that lead to our goal, no other way of slicing that mate

He proved more than enough that he has the end product while he was at Leipzig, he averaged an a goal or assist every 70 minutes which is absolutely superb.

That doesn't really matter though. Different league, different players. Sandro looked good in La Liga once.

Obviously not saying he is Sandro or anything but currently in an Everton shirt he has shown a few flashes but we don't need to change anything whilst in good form.

He has an assist in only 134 minutes on the pitch. It isn't a lot but it's better than what the other two have given us so far. Bernard also has one assist but in 500+ minutes. Walcott has 2 goals and 2 assists but he's started every game.

But both have been playing whilst we are doing well so...

I know Walcott isn't setting fires but he got an assist again due to his pace yesterday, he is a constant threat, it's another good headache to have and better competition for places. It's hard to drop theo because even not playing at his best he will still get and create at least one chance a game and that's not bad going really. I'll be interested to see Ademola take his chance when it comes along.

I hear what people say about Walcott but I can't help but wonder what Ademola's stats would be if he was given as many opportunities as Theo. Despite the competition, Walcott is probably assuming he'll be playing week in, week out. If Lookman were to have the same belief and trust of the manager, I think he could be devastating. Walcott infuriates me. I know I may get slated for that comment but too often his touch and his finishing lack quality and defensively, he switches off way too often.

He switched off once against United and now it seems he is classed as a bloke who switches off all the time.

Lookman has been getting a decent half hour or so each week, he is getting chances and is doing well. Again, why change it now? The things Walcott gets slated for are not things that Lookman has excelled at for us yet either.

Two good players who have played their part in a decent run for us, again, what's with the need for change?, it's working!

Yeah - I know. But then I get more excited about Lookman when he's on the ball than I do with Walcott. Plus, he's got age on his side to develop whereas Walcott won't improve.

I don't see what age has got to do with anything. Lookman will develop doing what he is now too.

Age has a lot to do with it in my opinion. Look at how Pep has improved Sterling's game. I'm not sure he'd be able to adapt Walcott in a similar way. If Lookman is coached properly, and has the right attitude, he'll improve. Walcott won't because his best days are behind him. I'm not proposing to ditch Walcott, but similarly, I think it would be refreshing for Lookman to start a run of games soon. Like most people, to be an Evertonian having these types of options and discussions is beyond our wildest dreams!! Things are really starting to move forward. Exciting times.
