Ademola Lookman

Me too, I was worried about his size in this league, but he’s throwing his weight around very well against bigger guys. Im impressed.

Actually harder to knock over a shorter guy because he’s got a lower center of gravity.

I thought Pickford was going to kill him a couple of times though by knocking it down the pitch and having him go up for it. One was against Brighton - not sure if it was Dunk? but asking Bernard to win a header over a CB is a bit much

You just know he'll go on to be amazing though and for the rest of all time we'll have to hear "Everton had Ademola Lookman but wasted him"
Don't know enough about Lookman to.form an opinion. Not had enough game time. Seemed to do ok in Germany although I never watched him. Most times I have seen him I want him to do well but he doesn't do much. Hes not pacey, he seems good with the ball at his feet but loses the ball a lot. When he does start a game he is pretty inocuous and is usually taken off. Agree he hasn't had a run of games so that we can see what he is about. But koeman alladyce and now Silva haven't started him much. So he mustn't show much in training either. But Silva probably think he can train him to be better . Jury's out on this guy.

Lookman will be 22 in October so although still young he is hardly a boy , there is not much difference in age between Richarlison and him.
He had limited time on the pitch this season for a reason, he did not do well enough to earn more playing time. We have seen with each of the younger players that they got playing time at different stages of the season and only DCL really grasped the opportunity.
I do have sympathy for Tom Davies who lost out to Gueye and Gomes but for a young player to get in ahead of those is a big ask. I think the recent contract extension shows that Tom Davies is highly regarded at the club.

This summer will tell us a lot about how the manager rates all our players..

would anyone else be happy if we kept richarlison, bernard, walcott and lookman as our four wingers next season? With vlasic and Onyekuru playing sort of backup roles as a secondary option?

In my opinion, a new winger is not up towards the top of priorities, but we do need a few more goals from the other 3. If any of them have to go, for me it has to be walcott. But he's also a player who could turn into a very good backup for us. He's scored a few against the bigger teams this season and has experience of playing big matches. For me, it's a would like to do if we have the time, but we just need the current crop of wingers to improve as opposed to be replaced.

Walcott and Lookman both want to play more than they would in that scenario I think

It's tough to find players who are talented enough to be options off the bench but also be willing to come off the bench instead of starting

Vlasic would probably want to play quite a bit for instance

...they are footballers and most footballers want to play, but ultimately they have to force their way into the team. They have to grasp opportunities when they arise.

Silva will have a view on those individuals, they are paid lots of money for Silva to deploy them as he wishes.

I like Lookman lots, we haven’t seen some of the subtle passing ability he demonstrated in the England Youth World Cup winning team, but I question his mentality. The game really has to matter to him.

Or they can try and get a move to a club where it's easier to get games, either because the coach is more willing to play them or there's a weaker player they think they can easily replace, which is what Walcott will probably do if he goes somewhere like Southampton for instance

...absolutely, as long as Everton are prepared to sell, the buying club are willing to meet Everton’s valuation and also the salary demands of the player.

agree Eggs. all in his head I reckon. I think he could be a star but will he get a run of games I think he needs? maybe missed a trick with a loan for 6 months this season if one of the top Champ clubs would have taken him

Wouldn’t be the end of the world like, but wingers are probably the most exciting players to watch so wouldn’t be against us bringing another class one in. Only takes an injury to Bernard or Richarlison and you’re starting Walcott again, so I’d be more than happy to have another top notch winger to go alongside Bernard & Richarlison.

CF, CM and CB have to be priority above that though.

So does the club he plays for.

....he’s come from the lower leagues so he must be resilient, I think he now needs to prove himself at this level.

Surely will be ahead of Walcott in the pecking order next season , if not , maybe it is best for all parties if he plowed his furrow elsewhere
