I'm a bit surprised that he wasn't more involved last season, as he always looks as though he's got a goal in him. I'd expected him to overtake Walcott as third choice behind Richarlison and Bernard.

...if I remember rightly, Dier was on loan and chose not to stay with us and I don’t think Mustafi was released.

Fair enough, although he had a good return during his loan spell in Germany.

I wouldn't say that I see him going on to hit incredible heights, but I do think that he looks like someone who can drop the shoulder and make something out of nothing.

I think when Silva said he viewed him as a big part of the future Lookman would have come around to staying if Silva had followed through on that and treated him like a big part of the team. That didn't really happen.

And Silva didn't complain about his work rate until 8 months after he decided to keep him. I feel like somewhere in there if he gives him proper game time Lookman might still be here. It isn't like he's going to a place with no competition for places.
