That's the thing,we won't know.Player says he wants CL but what he really means is I don't fancy the toxic atmosphere.

Has anyone reported this toxic atmosphere to the HSE? It wasn't in the Echo. Do tell us what you know about the toxic atmosphere and the source of it so appropriate action can be taken.

We'll never know will we.The idea that players on U23 international duty don't chat amongst themselves...

You really think Goodison is worse than any other ground for groans and moans?
You can’t really believe players would turn us down because Phil in the Main stand will moan at him for losing the ball.

Of cause it is only one supporter..you carry on believing that if it make you happy.

Goodison and our players are all that concern me.And if the atmosphere affects the development of our young players, that's a problem.
This is the problem for me. The older players you can make the argument that they should be mentally stronger by now (still don’t agree with the harassment from a certain section), but it can’t help to have your fans showering the younguns with abuse. It is about as counterproductive to their development as you can get (see Barkley).

The German/European crowds are far less forgiving when a player makes a mistake.

I went to Dortmund in January. The whistles and cacophony of boos from 80,000 supporters when they went 2-1 down to Freiburg was incredible. Stop banging on about Goodison. It isn't that bad.
Think the discussion was about the singling out of young players.

Speaking as someone who has been all over the place, not trying to sound like a super fan or anything, i would say Goodison is one of or perhaps the worse ground for this, yes. It dosent go unnoticed by visiting managers, the all know keep it tight for 30 minutes and the crowd go against the side
Other clubs fan might do it as well but might balance it out with some vocal support but we dont even do that, "Sing when were winning" dosent get more embarrassing than that. Ask yourself why Lukaku often put his hand to his ear? Or Tommy Gravsen at times felt the need to ask the fans pipe up

Name a ground in the PL where very highly paid badly performing players are not subjected to verbal criticism by some in the crowd who do not appreciate prima donnas on many tens of thousands per effing week and doing a bad job of playing football. They are all to a man on a different financial planet from the watching crowd. Phil Neville pointed this out some years ago when he said that it had become very evident that rocketing player salaries have begun to alienate players from the ordinary working people who form the crowds. He was referring to comments on MOD about mounting animosity towards some players perceived by the crowds to be underperforming for their favourite clubs. He was dead right. Underperform at e.g. Analfield or any top club and you will certainly soon know it. West Ham fans pay very large amounts to watch some of the crap players they have and took to rioting at one stage last season.
