think he'll be a good player for us. gives us an attacking option off the bench and could start if players get injured. talented and i think RM will get the best out of him

Don´t think he´d dare to take the piss here tbh. This is a massive chance for him and at 27 it´s probably his last chance of making it at a big premiership club.

You can't downplay the impact playing at a club you're not happy at has on you're performance. Obviously McGeady didn't want to be there.

Expect him to be a very good player for us under Martinez.

I can see the derby coming up becoming known as the McGeady derby, he'll know all about what derbies mean to the fans from his time at Celtic so he'll be chomping at the bit to tear them apart. I can't see anything but an Everton win

Kopites are getting this coming at them in the Derby:

This as well.

Made up.

The first time I saw him was at the Celtic v Everton friendly in July 2006 when he came on as a sub and scored a superb winning goal for them. (FFS like)

Watched him play many times of Ireland and he delights and frustrates in equal measure. The lid oozes talent and can go past players with ease and so can be a joy to watch. As many have already said his final ball can sometimes be a lot to desired. With Ireland he was usually the main attacking threat as the central midfield under the previous management always comprised of 2 defensive midfielders in a rigid 4-4-2 system. That burden seemed too much for him sometimes. At Everton he will be playing with better players and won't be the only attacking outlet so I would expect that he will produce more consistent performances as a result. RM will make him a better player, of that there is no doubt; at half a million squids or so this deal is an absolute steal.

Can't believe half the Ireland team are in the Everton squad. Keep having to pinch myself to remember that I'm not dreaming this.

Together with the type of football we are playing atm and the subsequent results it is producing these are happy, happy days to be both an Everton and an Ireland supporter.:pint::D

from a fellow irish blue of 25 plus years, i agree with all of this, watching ireland most of my mates can't stand him, but I have always liked him, he has pace to burn and the ability to go past players like they're not there. They say his final ball is poor but he has a pretty good assist record for ireland, if not the best of the currrent squad in the last couple of campaigns. The majority of times he gets possesion for ireland he would be left isolated with no options, he would beat a couple of players and look class before being swallowed up by defenders and losing the ball through lack of support while robbie keane is standing on the other sideline roaring at ref, about some perceived wrongdoing ten minutes previously... this will not happen at everton the way Roberto O' Martinez has us playing. Aiden will think he is in some sort of football porn movie with all the options he will have
