Alan Myers leaves Everton for 'personal reasons'.

Does a confidentiality clause forbid disclosing that you are under a confidentiality clause? If something is wrong with the backroom and he wanted to let us know, he could say something like "I cannot comment on the circumstances of my leaving the club due to my confidentiality clause"

I would love it if he intentionally left out thanking the board just to raise the suspicions of anti-board morons so he can laugh at the insane theories they pull out of thin air.

That would effectively be a super injunction. Highly unlikely.

My view is this. Alan said in response to a tweet at the first time of 'having a few days off twitter' something along the lines of, It is nothing to do with any abuse I have recieved, i have just been dealt a heavy blow is all. This, with other goings on would lead me to believe that it is not a falling out with the club, but health issues to himself or a family member. His position at Everton would be impossible to work on a part time basis, certainly to still be able to perform at the level he did.

Anything any of us says though is pure speculation until an official explaination is released (though 50% will just thinks its a lie if it doesn't align with their theories anyway) so the best I can do is say, IF Alan has been forced out then it is a poor, poor decision by whoever made it. IF Alan or a family member is unwell in any way, then I, and I'm sure I'm joined by every blue on this forum and beyond, wish him/them a speedy and full recovery, and I look forward to seeing his face on the big screen at some point in the future, while he is in the stands enjoying the game.

I wish him well, he was excellent in his post and actually made a huge difference in an area the club did need to improve upon.

All speculation aside, my own theory is that maybe he has left due to the stress of the position and the negativity he sometimes recieved whilst trying to do the right thing. I imagine actually working for the club you love is probably not so great after all and can take the shine off the experience some what.

Good luck in your future endeavours Mr Myers, you'll be sorely missed.

Shameful that O'Keeffe is spinning the club's 'illness' lie for them.

He's so ill right now that he's looking for work frantically.

Nice one Greg. I'm sure Alan Myers, who kept you in touch on a daily basis with club affairs, appreciates your helpful intervention on behalf of his former employers.

The worrying thing here though Dave, is that your having a go at somebody for doing something that may only exist in your head. Thats a massive step to take. Your basically calling a real person out, because of a random thought that you have had that may have absolutely no basis in reality. Thats utterly bizzarre.

Heard he has been trying hard to get back into loving arms of the club. Tony Scott seems to be the only one who has the onions to question anything anymore, the rest take the lead of the editor. It was funny when talksport did their bit last year and we got the "ECHO says" next day telling everyone they are not in the club,s pocket. The price of being able to attend press conferances and matches comes with everyone staying on messaage.
The Ross emails tell anyone interested what the real relationship between the club and that rag is mate. "The Echo will run our story because they owe us one".

They are nothing more than puppets.

Is Alan Myers Ill? No. Has he been ill enough of late to be forced from his employment? No. He's not took any sick leave he'd be entitled to if he was ill, and if he was ill he wouldn't be looking presently for work.

Is Gregg O'Keeffe peddling a story that Myers is ill and this is the cause of his resignation? Yes, he is.

So how does all that equate to my making a "massive step" on what I've said about that Echo representation of the issue this morning?

I agree

This has been proven in the past, whenever the echo has spoke out of line they've been banned. Remember after the Kenwright special how frosty things got, they wont want that to happen again.

Myers has already said on twitter he is looking for work in reply in reply to a tweet so I think it may well be a falling out. That is just my two bobs worth

if i was myers i think i'd get out early too before the crap hits the fan in the summer when we have a negative net spend again.

and i have come to that conclusion by taking into account net spends of seasons past. so if i was a betting man going by those seasons a negative net spend is odds on.

so imo he has got out so he doesnt have to deal with the storm in the summer.

to my opinion like.

It's almost inevitable in my eyes, but I'm not convinced that's the reason for his departure. The line about him being ill is ridiculous though, considering he's confirmed he's looking for work already.

Why would the Director of Communications be party to our likely spend in the summer?

I would have thought the only people with that knowledge would be the Chairman, CEO, FD and the Manager - that is the most sensitive information in the Club, I find it difficult to believe he would have knowledge of that.

Could it just be that he found the job too stressful? He tweeted today that he's not looking to go back into a media job.

Here's another question: How come Alan, who everyone knows is very well liked within Everton Football Club (by all the Communications staff who worked under him anyway) has not had any tweets from his now former colleagues wishing him well, or expressing sadness at his departure? He frequently engaged in public dialogue with his colleagues, often very light hearted banter, when he was in the job.

You'd think at least one or two would. Yet there has been radio silence. No-one has even tweeted about him going at all, let alone reached out to Alan publicly.

Could it be that people are maybe erring on the side of caution, or maybe have even been ordered not to comment on the situation?

At the very least it reinforces that this isn't a departure due to illness, because if that was the case, people would be wishing him well.

I dont know if he's ill. Is he not ill? He's just fine and dandy is he. Ok Dave. Thanks for enlightening me with your knowledge of Alan Myers and his personal health record.

Yeah I have noticed this - strange that people from his own department haven't even publicly wished him all the best

I dont get why is has to be publically. He's been in to see Martninez and those at Finch Farm, so it can't be that toxic an atmosphere can it.
