It's utterly bizzare, and we can't help but be suspicious given the circumstances. Health problems would surely result in the entire club sending wishes and making a fuss of him, given the fuss that he has made of Bryan/The Malaysian Fella/Every Evertonian in the world.
He was fantastic, and has been a massive part of the aura of positivity and optimism around much of the club. And he loved his job, and the club, to death. I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist when it comes to Everton, but this is more than a little odd.
More importantly, I hope the bloke is alright and I'm sure he will have no problems finding work.

Unless he has a condition that he is keeping secret, he has not left the club because he was ill.
He has not been 'off sick a lot lately'. He stated he was coming off Twitter on February 18th because he was ill (condition not specified - could have been man flu for all we know) and that he didn't want people thinking he wasn't replying to them. The next thing we know is when he next tweeted yesterday (9 days later), when he announced he was leaving.
His subsequent tweets about 'needing to pay the bills' coupled with the club's announcement that he sees his future elsewhere indicates that this is not health related.
If he was really sick and had something terribly wrong with him, he wouldn't just quit his job, and the club damn sure would be helping him, as they would any employee with a serious illness. I'm quite sure we'd all know about it very quickly if Everton were shafting an ill employee, and to be fair, it is not something that Everton would do.

Heard he has been trying hard to get back into loving arms of the club. Tony Scott seems to be the only one who has the onions to question anything anymore, the rest take the lead of the editor. It was funny when talksport did their bit last year and we got the "ECHO says" next day telling everyone they are not in the club,s pocket. The price of being able to attend press conferances and matches comes with everyone staying on messaage.

It's a load of crap. Left the job he couldn't turn down after 7 months? Who quits their job when they're ill? The people at the top have been getting away with murder for years. If he would spin like his 2 predecessors I'm sure he'll still be in the job. No doubt he wouldn't tow the line.
