Joyce and Ornstein both said yesterday that Iwobi was wanted in addition to Zaha, and apparently Iwobi hasn't been with Arsenal all day, it's entirely possible that we've just been haggling over the price and announcing it so late was down to that rather than anything to do with the Zaha deal.

Can’t help but feel this is a stop gap signing to fill numbers without actually pushing us to the next level. Similar to Tosun, above market price hopeful signing that eventually leads to further recruitment in the same position. At this stage of our development, we ought to be signing establish talent or exceptional youth. Kean and Zaha being example.
 
Apparently, the fee is only 28 million. And he wasn't our 'plan B/second choice'. We last bid for Zaha on July 28th.

So, If that bid was going to be accepted today by Palace, we would have still gone for Iwobi I think.

Can't do the goals without the assists. 16 of them in that span. And many of those appearances were as a sub

100 appearances in the PL, 11 goals and 16 assists. Many of those matches as a sub

Not terrible on a per minute basis

Is it a knee-jerk reaction by you ? I would say so as you don't have a good word to say about Everton or anyone connected with the club. So predictable.
 
Regardless of last form, he’s going to get more game time for us than he did at Arsenal. I suspect a lot more.

I bet with a bit of consistency we see a much more effective and efficient player.
