Brands took a gamble on a certain fee twisting Palaac's hand. It was bad judgement to persevere if you dont have the magic number.

Can’t help but feel this is a stop gap signing to fill numbers without actually pushing us to the next level. Similar to Tosun, above market price hopeful signing that eventually leads to further recruitment in the same position. At this stage of our development, we ought to be signing establish talent or exceptional youth. Kean and Zaha being example.

...possibly, my son just said exactly the same (about not taking us to the next level). If nothing else, we have got rid of two players who were making no contribution (Lookman and Onyekuru) and replaced them with one that will.
