Confirmed Signing Alex Iwobi

Iwobi is fast and can dribble, his problem is composure which will be refined over time

Zaha is an absolute trumpet of a player who people think is world class because of skillllz, yet still lacks composure

It’s almost like buying Tesco’s own food versus a brand name. At the end of the day it’s the same product in different packaging and one costs twice as much
Hear hear

For all the groans about Zaha not coming , put a little perspective in here......The price Palace wanted for him was the same Chelsea got for Hazard and more than Utd got for Lukaku.
We would have regretted getting Zaha for that money and tbh he's really not all that.

Assists. Oh yeah. What's that? Four per season?

Bernard should have been looking at moving inside and offering an option to Sigurdsson this season, instead he is right in the mix for a starting spot.

1 assist every six games, and 1 goal every 10 games, supposedly it's not as simple as that though (so I've been told) and it should work out as assists/goals per minutes played, so he's has a goal or assist every 3 games.

Very much in the oxlade chamberlain mould this signing I welcome an attacking player who can carry the ball and attack and he’s young and has potential

Apparently, the fee is only 28 million. And he wasn't our 'plan B/second choice'. We last bid for Zaha on July 28th.

So, If that bid was going to be accepted today by Palace, we would have still gone for Iwobi I think.

Where's it say 28? If that was widely acknowledged a lotta folks' reactions on here would be quite different.

We're supposedly trying to break into the top 6, and instead we blow a fortune on an arsenal sub. Arsenal being one of the teams we're trying to overtake.

This is a perennial issue.

We don't get any nearer our targets by buying top 6 squad players that have outlived their usefulness. Handing a direct rival £40m isn't that smart either.

We've been doing it for years. The only change here is that it's Arsenal that are the beneficiaries on this occasion rather than United.

For anything close to £75/£80m I would have wanted a truly top class player. Which Wilf clearly isn’t

Kirkbride in the Red Echo saying so. HOPEFULLY its true, but their past record of being VERY wrong is a worry. Hope its true.

He lacks refinement Tim, he’s a handful when he’s on song but is final ball is questionable; a bit like Wilf

He has the ability to change games because he actually goes at people

I've always thought he's ok but nothing more but I'll be watching him closely to see if I've underestimated him. He's the perfect age and homegrown too.

My problem tonight isn't so much him. My problem is I'd hoped for much more today.

Our best player currently was a squad player at a better club. Good players are good players and top clubs don't always make the correct personnel decisions.
