£35m for a bench warmer, genuinely knew this would happen as soon as we brought him, this should go on brand’s CV for life, the fact the rest of our midfield is garbage makes him fit into this over paid and over rated awful midfield perfect

When you spend a large amount of money on a player, you´re looking for impact. If we´d decided to keep that money this summer and leave Iwobi at Arsenal we would be in exactly the same position as we are now. He hasn´t made any sort of imprint on the club.

He´s the 4th most expensive player in the club´s history. Do you think we´re going to be making 60 million pound moves for top players every summer? If so, you are going to be seriously disappointed.

No. But I think most of the team will be made up of players who cost between 20m and 40m in a couple of years. A signing like his is the new normal for us and should be treated as such.

I think you get one signing like Iwobi every summer then a selection of players sub 20m. That´s what happened this year and the year before. So for me, he was the ´big signing´ this summer and he´s been an awful disappointment. As I said before, absolutely no impact.

Yes you are correct £35M is not big money in the transfer market these days, however if Iwobi came on a free transfer and was getting a lot less wages than he is, he’d still be a very poor player.
