I did not see a consensus at all. I saw, and still see, a significant amount of Arsenal fans wishing they never sold him.
Seems to me he had a split 'love or hate' following at Arsenal.

Our social feeds were inundated with Arsenal fans taking the piss at the fee. Look at the comments to when David Ornstein broke the news;

Sure, a good number will of course wish him well;

.... he's an academy lad, but the Arsenal consensus was very much that they got a great deal for him and it was time for him to move on.

A bit like when we sold Anichebe. Fans of course wished him well, but were laughing at the fee West Brom paid.

Back to my original point - a very simple one really which the manager himself said when he signed - he has to improve from Arsenal, particularly with goals to improve us - obviously - hopefully a new environment/setup will see him really kick on.

Yeah I can hand-pick some tweets, too.

As I said, some liked him a lot and some thought we were mugs for the price. Far from a consensus.
Anyway, what Arsenal fans think is irrelevant really isn't it? For us he's had two good performances and a goal already.

Do you understand what consensus means?

General agreement. Generally, most Arsenal fans thought they got a great deal. To dispute that is silly.

Here is a search for Iwobi+Sanhelli - no cherry picking;

Of course.

Though they still got a very decent fee - Paul Joyce reported the fee to be around 35m.

The way the games going, he'll be worth 80m in 2 years...
Well it was 28m rising to 34m with adds on, Also when you spend 72m on a shiny new Pepe and recoup 28-35 on that on that on a player who was you would say okay at best it's not surprising people are really happy.

are you still annoyed that people said he had a great game but it doesn't count for you because it was against Lincoln

I’m not annoyed. I just disagree with it.

And to be fair “people” haven’t said he had a great game against Lincoln. Just a few dweebs on here.

We can speculate on reasoning but ultimately, the consensus (or, general agreement) from Arsenal fans was... well, evident here. I'm not saying it was universal @Zezti...

Let's hope he proves them (and to be fair, me) wrong. To do that, he'll need to improve from his Arsenal days is all I'm saying.

Arsenal fans hounded out their greatest ever manager, who gives an actual toss what they think? Fact of the matter is they’ve sold Iwobi and kept a far worse player in Mkhitaryan who still gets regular games.

And that we've got a player who's put in two out of two good performances. That's the main thing.

All the twitter stuff is void because its been proven by a professor that 99.9% of stuff posted on twatter is bolloks.
He's here now. His short apperarences have been ok. Lets make him feel confident.

And people are even quicker to profess players are top quality after a good half hour.

We've seen it with Mina too to be fair, it's not just Iwobi. That desperate for said player to work out that they lose all objectivity.

Any bad moments / performances are immediately forgotten or dismissed as "It's early days, give him a break!".

And any good touches / semi-decent 6.5/10 performances are lauded (irritatingly) as MOTM winning displays.
Personally I would rather people be overly positive about a player than overly negative.
