So because he made one bad pass he shouldn't be allowed to do the thing he's suited to do anymore?

We played him central for a whole game one time, against West Ham last season at Goodision, and he ran the game. Maybe it was a fluke. With how bad our midfield is in possession it wouldn't hurt to find out.

Didn't say that did I?

We signed him as a winger. To score goals. Marco Silva and Marcel Brands words. Not mine.

I agree. It's over here. But if went to a place like Brighton where they have a strong passing system he could kill it.

I’ll be interested to see how he gets on at another club.

That being said I probably won’t be arsed. I just want him gone from here for good.

I’m going to sound like Roy Keane here but he Frustrates the hell out of me - He obviously does have ability but even when he walked out the pitch on the second half his sleeves were pulled over his hands as always and he was just ambling on looking like he couldn’t be arsed...these are the types of players we need to stay away from in future signings if we are to progress.

Richarlison and Godfrey are two prime examples of players who work their asses off and have the right attitude...Iwobi just doesn’t for me.

His last season he played regularly and was honestly quite good, on an upward trajectory for sure. They decided Pepe was a better option.

And I'd move him because that's what his skillset calls for. He passes and dribbles forward a lot but isn't creative enough to be a winger. That's essentially box to box midfield.
Looking at his record, and I will say that 22 league starts is probably more than I would have guessed. I'm quite certain that he was only ever an option on the left, though.

I know you see a lot in him, so feel free to gloat if he ever goes and becomes a key player somewhere.

You'll have to find those words for me then, I did a quick search and I'm not seeing those quotes.
"He will give high quality in our attack. He can provide creativity playing from the left or behind the striker as an offensive midfielder.

"And if he can – and I am sure he can – score more goals, it will help the team.

"If you look at our wingers and the players in forward positions, it is something I demand from them

The thing is that Arsenal team didn't play there wingers as guys who are required to stay super wide. They came inside and combined a lot. So even if he was a "winger" in purely positional terms asking him to dribble at players and cross wasn't really what we should have been expecting. His value was dribbling forward and passing into the final third and the box. In some teams that can be a winger role. For us it is probably midfield.

That's clearly not "we brought him in to score goals." The word if matters there.

"The first time I met with him, it was something I put in his mind [his ability to score goals].

"Richarlison scored many, many goals last season, Theo scored some.

"I want more from the other two [Iwobi and Bernard].

Said it from day one. He's a fraud. He couldnt give a toss we lost tonight. He's been handed a fat contract at Everton and he'll happily just pick that up for another few years.
He is everything you dont want in a player at your club. Zero fight passion or desire.
