That's clearly not "we brought him in to score goals." The word if matters there.
"The position we see him in is clear, coming from the left," said Silva. "He can also play behind the striker really well. He can even play on the right.

"He is a strong player, good skills also, but one of the things I will be demanding from him is to start scoring more goals.

"The first time I met with him, it was something I put in his mind [his ability to score goals].

"If you look at our wingers and the players in forward positions, it is something I demand from them.

"Richarlison scored many, many goals last season, Theo scored some.

"I want more from the other two [Iwobi and Bernard].
This is not him saying that we signed him to score goals!

He's not a right winger. He's going to keep looking bad playing right wing. There are still things he is good at, but taking on fullbacks and crossing are not them. Any time he can move toward the middle of the field he opens the game up for us.

Ive defended him previously and still think there is a player in there somewhere but there comes a point where a decision needs to be made and he cant keep putting in performances like that

But I agree with your point, he's not a RW. I cant remember him ever playing there for Arsenal and I dont think he does for Nigeria as he doesnt have the pace or crossing ability.

His best position is LW, cutting inside and playing to the overlapping fullback or sliding through balls to the striker, but LW is Richarlisons position.

He can play central but Ancelotti doesnt seem to fancy that so he needs moving on if we are not going to make best use of him. Reinvest in someone who has a proper role in the team

He doesn't make any runs into the box though

Nigeria use him as a #10 or even box to box. Arsenal used him essentially as a wide #10 in the same way they used Ozil but obviously on the other flank.

He should just go. Best for everyone. But I'm disappointed that we've never really gotten it right.

Didn't say that did I?

We signed him as a winger. To score goals. Marco Silva and Marcel Brands words. Not mine.

You'll have to find those words for me then, I did a quick search and I'm not seeing those quotes.

Ok, mate.

I've shared them a few times on here. Here;

I mean, Brands and Silva signed him primarily for his versatility and both were very clear they saw him as a winger. Quotes below.

Brands: "In our eyes, a boy that can play in different positions. Play from the side, also behind the striker. He's 23-years-old, already quite experienced and the most important thing: he has goals and assists in his game".

Silva: "The position we see him in is clear, coming from the left," said Silva. "He can also play behind the striker really well. He can even play on the right. One of the things I will be demanding from him is to start scoring more goals

"He has goals and assists in his game" - He never has, IMO. And certainly not enough to warrant the money we spent at the last second of the window.

I don't accept then the "he's not a winger" shout.

Just because he's not very good, it doesnt' mean we're playing him out of position.

They signed him to play on the wing, with versatility to play behind the striker.

They both said and to deliver goals/assists. How's that going?!

Well tbf none of those suggestions was he can play right wing back so that is probably out of position.

If we signed him thinking he'd be a good winger in our system because he played out wide for Arsenal we're pretty dumb. Ozil played out wide for Arsenal too. We wouldn't expect him to come in here and get a bunch of crosses in.

I think if we want to say he's not out of position then fine, the answer is instead that he was never a good fit. But either way it really isn't on the player. We're asking him to be someone he isn't. The videos from his time at Arsenal are still on YouTube. His strengths are passing the ball on the ground and toward the box. Are we putting him positions to do that right now?

He’s pretty crap anywhere on a football pitch. Simple as that.

He's not though. I don't expect anyone to go back and watch that mess from today again, but there are two or three times where he gets the ball inside and not pinned to the touchline and they are basically the only times we opened Chelsea up before they went two up.
