The thing is that Arsenal team didn't play there wingers as guys who are required to stay super wide. They came inside and combined a lot. So even if he was a "winger" in purely positional terms asking him to dribble at players and cross wasn't really what we should have been expecting. His value was dribbling forward and passing into the final third and the box. In some teams that can be a winger role. For us it is probably midfield.
I always thought he looked quite decent at Arsenal, to be honest. I just think it was enormous leap of blind faith on Everton's part to pay a large fee for him, considering that he'd never been first-choice before. There was also no obvious place for him in Silva's midfield, making it doubly strange.

The thing I've been most disappointed with is his inability to pass, cross or shoot while carrying the ball at pace. If I was to pick out a positive in his game, it's that he's very composed with the ball at his feet in the box. I like how he usually gets his head up and looks for a teammate in those situations, but I don't know how that translates into starting a role for him.

Remmeber when he had a half decent 45 mins against Fulham ages ago and people thought he was an option.

Horrible footballer, can't pass, can't dribble, can't cross, can't shoot, doesn't defend properly.

His only use is knocking it past a player, which then turns out to be useless anyway as hes a woeful crosser of the ball.

I think he passes pretty well tbh. He has a reputation for giving the ball away but I think that's just bias, he's no worse than most players in his position. I think the answer is #10 or midfield. Or off the left where he can use his strong foot but that seems reserved for Richarlison. Not sure that's a good foot either though.

None of it matters. Carlo has his opinion.

Wasnt at his best tonight, but had nothing from holgate behind him. Rb has to be the first move we make need a player who can get up and down the pitch like digne

You seem to want to dismiss any criticism of him as unfounded, so I suppose there's not much else to say.

Well what I mean is the stats don't show these things that people complain about but that brings in a whole "screw stats my eyes see what they see" thing that I don't want to do.

I think he is ill suited to a wide role. When a wide player has average pace then other attributes such as crossing or dribbling need to be top notch. At the moment, these aren't the best. Playing centrally he has miles more confidence and can be creative and has a good shot on him. Over to you Carlo..

I’m still seeing “he’s a right back” (which nobody in world football said until this season) and “he’s a 10” which is just wrong because he’s put in equally poor performances there. Truth is he’s not even remotely a good footballer.

That Anthony Gordon might have been an interesting option...
I don't think Gordon is really a RW either. Honestly the best option is probably Richarlison but we seem determined to make it work with him on the left and it really isn't. His best work is down the middle and he can drift there from either flank.

He’s on loan at Preston North End that tells you all you need to know about his current development stage. The lad admitted he was gassed after 15 minutes in his last appearance for us in an FA Cup game and needed to work on his other responsibilities. He’s one for the future.

What does Carlo see in him?Anyone Heard?
Think he doesn’t have many options at the minute. And wanting to get Richarlison close to DCL
Makes it difficult to pick king, they looked dangerous late on, but 3 forwards is not going to work from the start,
Especially against the better teams

Iwobi is just one of a number of players, that need shifting
