It’s all about timing really.
He came on when Southampton were tiring and we were on the up, attacking well and the crowd were behind us.
He made a simple header which was turned into a goal by great work from Doucoure.
He made a decent pass which was turned into a great cross and diving header.
He made a horrific attempt at scoring which was funny because we all saw it coming and we were already 3-1 up so nobody really cares at that point.

If it wasn’t for the class of Doucoure and Richy on the day then he doesn’t get an assist and a key pass and if it wasn’t for the team playing so well second half and us being 3-1 up then he would’ve been slaughtered for passing back to the keeper instead of hitting the net.

He had an impact though and that’s more than normal so good for him. I’m more hopeful that’s enough to attract a bid than I am of that being him kicking on and improving for us though.
Agree, hopefully a performance like this will attract a bid for him, the way financial fair play works we could spend maybe 2-3 times the fee we get for him.

If he keeps that level as the minimum and scores round 8 league goals, we have ourselves a bargain.

Considering the wedge of wages he's earned off us up to now I wouldn't say a bargain mate. Also, I wouldn't hold my breath on him coming good because he's shown odd little glimpses before only to revert back to being gash.

He made a difference when he came on the other day but he's still gash.

gash is as gash does. He wasn't gash on Saturday.

20 minutes does not redeem his body of work. Every PL player can conjure up the odd moment or one good game out of five or they wouldn't have got this far.

Let's see him do it a few more times. if he does, then we have a discussion.

His play still reminds me of a be a top footballer for a day competition winner, unfortunately for us that day is into it's 3rd season......He headed the ball backwards and played a simple inside pass,by his usual contribution though that warrants he had a stormer....

People saying the pass to Richarlison was simple yet only three players in our entire squad are capable of passes like that and Iwobi is one.

The worst signing we have made apart from Siggurdson, in terms of cost, wages and effect on the team. Actually scratch that, he's most probably worse than Siggurdson.

Iwobi needs to see off three more managers still. And we didn't even fire Carlo so not sure he should even count.

It never ceases to amaze me, (cos its gone on for decades), how footballers who are talented enough to be noticed, then tracked, then signed as a kid, then eventually make it into a squad like Arsenals, (famous for giving their lads a crack), dont quite make the leap from being a brilliant footballer to not being quite good enough as a PL player.

He is super talented, but isnt that great at Professional football. Proper head scratcher.
