2021/22 Alex Iwobi

Anyone can miscontrol a ball, most of our players do it multiple times per game.

I've got more of an issue with Keane marauding into midfield for no reason when his centre back partner was already out of position, and our naivety tactically that it took one ball for Antonio to be 1 on 1 with Pickford.

The problem is Iwobi regularly does it.

Did well actively looking forward and found Richarlison twice and DCL but they never did enough.

I thought the mistake was 50/50 his and Keane's fault:
1) Keane picked the wrong pass, Richarlison was wide open.
2) The ball was 5 yards away and behind Iwobi.
3) Took his eye off the ball and terrible touch.

After that mistake, he at least showed for the ball and attempted to reverse his mistake.

He made a big mistake today but he was also our best attacking player and the only one on the pitch who looked to play incisive passes.

It's true richarlison was in acres.

Yeah it's a mistake but tbh I thought Iwobi played well. He was trying and trying to create. Hope it doesn't knock him down too much

I'd stick with him. What other options have we? No good ones who are available that I can think of.

Seeing a promising Iwobi as he puts in extra shifts in workout and training , he seems much fitter and has a flow in his footsteps , just needs to be more careful with some of his passes.

I don’t know who else in our team is capable of those three killer through balls he played yesterday, I’d play him there again against Burnley with Gordon in for Gray who offered nothing again unfortunately.
