Anyone can miscontrol a ball, most of our players do it multiple times per game.

I've got more of an issue with Keane marauding into midfield for no reason when his centre back partner was already out of position, and our naivety tactically that it took one ball for Antonio to be 1 on 1 with Pickford.
What was Keane doing going out of position. This as happened all season. Its down to the management team. Bringing in Cole and the rest as not improved us.

Massive error for their goal which can’t be ignored, but you know what he was our best player up until that point. He was the only one in the side with any creativity, and the only one who was going to provide a goal from open play today. DCL should’ve scored from his pass, Rich should’ve shot rather than trying to round the keeper, if we score both of them he has 2 assists.

Would be a mistake to drop him for me. We’ll do absolutely nothing against Burnley if him and Gordon don’t start.

He had an ok game by his standards for Everton, can't fault the effort.

The corner situation was more annoying than the mistake despite the consequence of the later. Sums up everything about him. No doubt he trains well, might have some mad tekkers or whatever but he has a very limited footballing brain. Can't imagine he would get in many other teams in the league. The fact that we have to rely on him speaks volumes about our squad.

Hope he sticks in and proves us all wrong but more realistically I hope he is part of the clear out in the summer.

That wound me up. Iwobi all over tho
This is exactly it. That corner was Iwobi in microcosm: utterly, stupidly braindead.

It doesn't matter how good he is in training, how technically adept he might be, or how hard he tries. He is fatally flawed by a complete and utter lack of basic footballing intelligence. Maddening.

He's the kind of guy who, if we were protecting survival in the last minute of the last game of the season, would go through on goal, miss, and give away critical possession instead of taking the ball into the corner flag, take a kicking for the cause, and win a priceless free kick. Thing is, even if he won the free kick, he'd take it quickly...and gift possession back.

He has more energy than most others. But like Gordon, he’s all fart and nae 5hite.

I agree with all of the above. Terrible mistake, but 60m from goal means it wasn't just on him.

My last roll of the dice with Iwobi is this - there is a potential similarity with him and Gravesen in the early 2000s. Everyone could see the Dane had unbelievable talent, but he was also a headcase who would just go wandering around leaving massive gaps.

It finally clicked when Moyes stopped trying to change him and instead created a setup where Carsley and Cahill provided the shape, and Gravesen had licence to roam and create. He was awesome at the beginning of 04/05 - Real don't sign him if not - and out of the current lot Iwobi seems to be the only one who will carry the ball and attempt through balls.

Im not a fan normally, but, he's looked ok in his last couple of games and, at least he plays as if he gives a feck. Bad error mis controlling that ball before the second goal, stupid error playing it back to Gray, who was standing offside, but, he was definitely our most creative player and had a decent game over all. At least he didn't go hiding after his mistake.

I still don't really rate him, but, I'm beginning to think he is probably more committed to the cause than some of his team mates

Breaking the lines is an important transition and can put number players in attacking situation. I actually thought he was doing well. His pass to iwobe was simple enough for iwobe to control - the fact he never was the problem.

After he forgot to look at the ball watch his feeble effort to chase Antonio. Huffing and puffing, treading in treacle.
Too busy training his goal celebrations instead of how to control a ball and pass to a team mate.
