2021/22 Alex Iwobi

If you look at Iwobi he has all the ingredients to be a good footballer, he’s tall, muscular, has extremely quick feet and surprisingly good balance, but, up to now his lack of awareness has let him down, it’s as if he gets the ball, instinctively starts to run with it and then doesn’t have any kind of clear plan what to do next.

I keep on thinking there may be a player in there and he keeps convincing me there probably isn’t. He is a conundrum. Over to Benitez, perhaps he can bring his coaching skills to bear on Alex and make a half decent player of him. Who knows, stranger things have happened.

Reminds me a bit of Barkley, great when he doesn’t have time to think, but when he has time, the wrong decisions come into play.

I refuse to get my hopes up but if he can turn his career around then its at least an option from the bench.
Yep. Knowing our luck he will start and be ineffective next week. Rafael needs to be consistent and bring him off the bench where he has at least been effective at times.

He is not a starting winger. He is too inconsistent a playmaker to start in the middle. Let him go against tired legs and get into advanced positions where he actually has an impact.

Pretty sure Rafael will pick the team he feels will win the game for Everton. If iwobi continues in the way he has started the season there's no reason why he can't play his way into the starting 11. Understandably it will take us fans a while to trust him, but I really hope he does it
