Imagine, in any line of work, admitting you need a manager on at you 24/7 to perform.

Not ideal, really.

Goes back to this, IMO.

Yeah I agree there, says more about the players than it does the manager.

But then when we've went so long with any real tangible success maybe players do come here expecting an easy ride as long as we're top 10?

Something has to give, be that a manager who odrags the best out of players at all times or signing players who have a 100% committed attitude. It's probably easier to sign one manager to do that rather than 11+ players.

I think the managers credentials in Ancelotti meant the focus was on the players.

As Coleman said in the article I linked - players hid behind too many managers. This core will do the same to Benitez.
That might have been the case if Ancelotti displayed even the slightest amount of the ability he showed previously or cared to try to. Seeing as he was a worse Everton manager than all those that were hid behind before it's hard to excuse him.

Anyway wrong thread ultimately.

I think that was clear when he was still here given how we got gradually worse and worse as the season went on under him.
Not only that but we were truly terrible in the restart post-covid lockdown. He basically had a 5 game run when he got here and a 5 game run with new signings when teams hadn't worked us out yet and otherwise he was worse than Big Sam. It's some achievement.

I will remember him as fondly as I remember Marco Silva. I aim to eventually forget he managed us.

Might be difficult as it it appears a good chance Marco will be rejoining the prem with Fulham next season. Has them flying out of the gates.

The championship is a dream league for hipster managers like Silva and Howe who can open up teams.

It's when they come up to the big boys league and play open football against teams that are simply much better than them that they eventually fall back down.

If you were applying for a job and you had twelve months stints here and there followed by gaps you'd raise alarm bells. Silva has made his career so far out of this and we even had to pay watford compo. Are we sure moshri is a billionaire accountant?

The relevance is that it was expected to finish his career and consequently he will need time to recover ,yes two years ( but we both know that it is only two years by the number ),not truly two whole years ) is a long time but we all recover at different rates if at all .

Sorry 22 months then, his injury has nothing to do with how easy he is to run past and his lack or goals and assists, it was the same pre injury
