I kind of agree something left field might mess there plans up. We are big outsiders with the team in an 'orthodox' plan so try the difference. If Benitez plays this I'll give him credit. Iwobi best game for us was away at Fulham last season in this system. No one really plays well at RB. If it doesn't work move him to number 10 and go 4 at the back. Godfrey would be starting whatever he would the become orthodox RB.

Not sure I agree with that. He doesn’t look like he’s not trying, but very little is coming off for him. As a result he’s wasteful in possession. That’s even more stark when you see the intelligence of Townsend who rarely wastes possession and makes things happen.

I think you hit the nail on the head there, intelligence. He doesn't seem to have a good footballing brain.

If we go 3 at the back the CBs have to be Holgate Mina Godfrey. Mina and Keane can not play together in a 3 so maybe you pop Holgate out to RB if it fails. Allan and Doucoure will be CM pair whatever. Have Townsend and Gray either side of Rondon.

The whole iwobi thing is getting more and more ridiculous. It goes from its players around him. To he's not played in his right position. To he's lionel messi in training.
He's a no end product heart the size of a pea fraud.

Iwobi pinned back as they overload that side isn't better but instead we'll have everyone unfamiliar with their position and role and less threat on the counter

Well we could barely lay a glove on a poor Norwich side and Utd will score at least once so to get even a point we'll need to score at least one ourselves more than likely 2 as we don't know if Pickford will be passed fit as he held his shoulder in the Norwich game which means the big galoot Begovic.

I just dont see how people can say that mixing it up is worse than going with that same side we had against Norwich - its essentially waving the white flag and taking a plucky 2-0/3-0 defeat.

Personally I'd take the punt as it would be the players I would pick anyways even in a more orthodox system. Try it for 20 minutes then switch anyways to bamboozle them. With no DCL or Richarlison our best chance is to catch them cold somehow.
