His new contract sounds like it's going to be a 'long-term' one
Brave club deciding his current, recent upswing in form trumps three years plus of abject mediocrity. These are the decisions that a director of football lives and dies by. I can understand the rationale for the extension - his recent form has been very good indeed - but his overall record at the club has been appalling. Recency bias might be a danger here - but now he must justify the faith shown in him.

Might end up leaving on a free which is typical everton or perhaps for a smallish fee.. Player starting to at last perform, getting to end of contract, thinks he can do better than us, end up agitating for a move because he wants european football...we heard it all before.
 


Decision to push gray up and have iwobi covering him backfired with how anonymous gray can be. Our best player was hardly involved.
