I know its tongue in cheek, but it's not his fault.

But it does highlight a broader problem, which is he would be a squad player for a 5-10th side but a star player for a side at the bottom.

I like him, and I like the fact he puts 100% in. But not sure hes better than James, Sigurdsson or maybe even Bernard. But we are used to seeing worse now.

All that being said, I think he gives 100% and I'll never slate anyone who does that.

No he doesnt. Dont get fooled that running around is giving 100%. He's physically fit. 100% is going into challenges and wanting to win that ball for the team. He pulls out of every single challenge.

It's what irks me. I've said many times he is ok out on the wings in opposition last third. Can't entertain the nonsense and mad shouts of him being in the middle as number 10 the lad is a liability.

I dont think wingers are known for tackling.

He covers a fantastic amount of ground. I couldn't fault his work rate. I don't mind hes not a bad tackler.

The issue is, he doesnt really score many goals.

Gona make a prediction here. When harrison is fit watch him attack a fullback and whip crosses in. I think we'll realise how lame iwobi is when we have someone willing and hungry on the pitch. And i mean genuine hunger.

So does mo farrah but i wouldnt pick him either.
Its not bad tackling. Its non existent bottle job tackling.
Imagine sitting in the dressing room before games knowing your team mates heart isnt really in it apart from running about.
Get him out of the club. If any idiot wants him.

I'm not sure I've made that point. Hes an attacking player. I dont think I'd criticise him on lack of defensive skills. His attacking numbers arent very good in terms of goals, and he gives the ball away cheaply. They are my big concerns.
His work rate is probably above everyone at the club so no issues there.

He is a winger, now for me wingers must do one or both of 2 things, get to the byline and whip crosses in
or on the opposite side cut inside and thread balls through and/or shoot, he doesnt do that.

He is one of them players that looks very busy on a pitch without actually doing anything.

Too sloppy in possession to play midfield.
We must not renew his contract, we should be looking too offload this window but id guess it will be done in January with 6 months remaining on his contract for a very small fee.

I predict he will sign a new contract either in the next 2 weeks or just after the window closes.
And if we cant sell him before window closes, on acceptable wages, that would be the correct plan.
He'll likely sit tight and get a nice signing on bonus in the footballing mecca of Turkey or somewhere equally pish though.

I was talking more generally.

The only time I've ever been impressed with him - and I was very impressed - was when he played as a proper centre mid under Lampard, but there hasn't appeared to be any desire to use him there since the beginning of last season.

This, although I genuinely get why some fans are scared to lose him as he does clearly have sound technical ability, close control, a bit of vision etc etc, and all them things are admittedly in short order throughout the squad, the reality is, replacing him with just even a good all rounder like Harrison improves us instantly.

I've never seen a player with less aggression than him ever, to the point I hate him getting a yard of space on the edge of the box and going for a shot, he can't even generate enough power on a strike to trouble any half decent prem keeper.

At the end of the day we created chance after chance against Fulham in spite of Mcneil being out, our most in form attacking player, I'd argue Mcneil has been far more influential on games than Iwobi has throughout the back end of last season when it mattered most, and we coped without Dwight reasonably well on Saturday, with that in mind I can't understand this narrative that we'd be in the dirt without Iwobi. 1 year left, won't sign a new contract, thinks and states publicly he should be playing CL games, delusions of grandeur, genuinely think we need to force him out and get some sort of fee for him now while we can

One of the things that irks me the most about criticizing Iwobi is that he "doesn't put in a shift" or "he doesn't tackle"

We can criticize him for many other things - not scoring enough goals, misplacing a pass in a bad area too often, sometimes making things too complicated when the simple pass might do. But I rarely find myself saying that if only Iwobi would tackle more or try harder he'd be more effective. Especially for the position he plays the most for us.

It's clear some have an axe to grind.
