Twitter is a joke anyway, but I think this tweet summed up why.

The additional tweet calling everyone who disagrees an “idiot”, was icing on why it’s ridiculous.

Stats don’t tell the whole picture, look at what’s going on right in front of you.

He’s an okay player, who I think has under performed. No one cares about xG created, xA Assists and whatever, people care about the black and white. Is he good? Does he score? Does he assist?

“Progressive Passes”. Christ. When did football become whatever the hell it is lol

Stats might mean something in a sport like Baseball, but football is a different animal

By all means use them as a rough guide, but football is a sport where you can't just point to the stats and they never tell the full story

The eye test usually always matters more than the excel spreadsheet

Couldn’t have put it better myself mate.

What would you rather have Iwobi slinging 100 balls into the box and 1 being an assist or an effective winger who does a quarter of that but has quadruple the efficiency?

Stats will favour Iwobi in all of the fields except the ones that matter.

Right now we need players who have an end product, because it's what we're desperately lacking

Iwobi has had very little of that lately (as have the majority of the team)

If selling Iwobi gives us the money to buy someone who can make stuff happen up top, then it's a no brainer for me

No beef with Iwobi at all. Seems like an affable chap, but I don't see the point in keeping him around if a replacement can be lined up

I could see Iwobi speaking to Fulham, seeing what is on offer and waiting til next year to join them when he can get a big signing on fee.

IF reports around the fee are to be believed, would you pay 15-20 million to loan Alex Iwobi for 1 season? As that is essentially what we would be doing if we chose to keep him rather than sell.

I think he is best as a 10 though probably wont get played there under Dyche so not sure it impacts the squad hugely, think he is poor as a winger.

All based on 6 months under Lampard.

Throw his stats over the previous 3 years please

I think the kindest thing Iwobi can do for us right now is leave today and not next year on a free like Barkley.

Do the right thing, Alex.

Throughout his career at Arsenal, I always thought he looked like a lad with talent but he never pushed on. He's had exactly the same career here, he'll never be a better player than he is now, and we definitely need better. Good luck to him, but we won't miss him.
