Deeply loved and now sorely missed. My condolences to all Evertonians who feel this loss most deeply, as I am a relative newcomer.

I know that he will always be a legend. RIP to the Golden Vision.
I can honestly tell you younger ones, that there is only one good thing about getting old. THAT IS, I SAW ALEX YOUNG LOADS OF TIMES
He was mercurial, his pictures all over my room, his photograph still in an old wallet, His name( GOD ) on my works lunchbag.

68-69 Vs Leicester, We did them 7-1 with a very young Shilton in goal, that was the season they got relegated (one of a few) and lost the cupfinal to city who beat us in the semi with a last min goal after we had mentally settled for a replay...that still rankles even now.

City 69 and WHU 75 were the last all English team to win the cup.

semis Leic 1 (Clarke A.) Vs WBA 0 - City 1 (Booth A.) Vs Everton 0
NW Vs Midlands Final who said they don't fix it.

Degsy, I was asking if Gerry Humphries scored against Leicester or Sheffield Wed. when he scored that fantastic goal it was
in a game that finished 3-0, I wasn't talking about what season it was, I thought you were possibly getting mixed up
with Colin Greens goal against Leicester City which finished 3-2 to Everton. Sorry for any confusion.

I was just looking through the Press pages to see if any funeral arrangements had been made for The Man yet. I came across
a lady journalist, she wrote of Alex Young being a very talented WINGER. Andy Gray was sacked by 'Sky' for saying less.

Seems the funeral is at 10am on Saturday 11th March. With WBA at home that afternoon it'll be a push, but will try to get to both. There will only ever be one Alex Young funeral, may just get back in time for Z Cars!

he was a no 9 , but in his latter days he wore the no 7 jersey along side bally who wore no 8 - they linked up so well together he still scored goals in the no 7 jersey!
Never a winger though!

Whereabouts mate? Would want to go to this - even if standing outside.
