Just a slight view on Kroenke from the American side.

He really doesn't care about winning anything. That article is dead right about that. He only cares about maximizing his profit and control. I could absolutely see him buying out Usmanov if he thinks it will make him a tiny bit richer down the road, regardless of whether it adds a 'competitor' on the pitch.

Kroenke is just about the worst owner you could hope for. Ask St. Louis. I feel bad for @49ers

To piggy back off of this, as its absolutely correct, Kroenke has shown that with the Rams. He cares nothing for winning, and doesnt even try to do so, just tries to keep enough hype going to pad his pockets. A great example of this is his head coach Jeff Fisher. In american football, going 8-8 is the definition of mediocre. To make the playoffs you have to go 10-6 or better. In the two seasons before he hired Fisher, Fisher coaches his team to two 8-8 or worse seasons. Fisher has now been the Rams head coach for 4 seasons, in those 4, he has been below 8-8 all 4 seasons. Thats 6 straight seasons of being mediocre or worse, and YET, they are in talks this week for Fisher to be given a contract extension by Kroenke. Nobody understands why, and Rams fans are not happy. Any other team would have fired him years ago.

WRD1878 did say this was 'million percent happening' ages ago. For me it makes complete sense, Kroenke isn't going to sell up any time soon leaving Usmanov with almost no chance of getting on the board.

Kroenke WILL pass on Arsenal to his children as an inheritance as well, most NFL owners have done similar (which in essence is what he is)

Usmanov has ZERO chance of ever gaining control or even a voice at Arsenal, he effectively lost the chance years back when it was up for grabs, since then it's been about maneovering to attempt to gain power - but ultimately it's dead in the water there for him now.

I'm sure Usmanov has previously stated that he was leaving his shares in Arsenal to his children and grandchildren. He is a Arsenal fan as well as a shareholder and sees the owning of the shares as a personal thing rather than a business issue.

As previously stated he could well 'gift' the shares to his offspring now to try and tie up with Moshiri again. But I don't think there would be any cash from the Arsenal shares (not that he would need the cash to start a new project) as I don't believe he would give them up.

It would be great to have his backing but unlikely imo.

In reality the amount of spending could approach that level, it just requires a plan of how to do so without falling foul of the ffp rules and usmanov has the means approaching cities owners mate, he's a league above Roman.
Roman also has a self sufficient run club now, they don't rely on him for spending money on players anymore and spend within their own means which was with winning trophies was also his main objective when he bought the club, they will also have a 60K stamford bridge within 3 seasons time to boost turnover even more.

Amazingly Roman was a big supporter of FFP and him and Bruce Buck built the club post FFP into a pretty slick outfit with massive commercial revenues and a scouting network that targets the worlds best young players to sell on at profit that is a fantstic revenue stream to help with getting past FFP,Chelsea in 04 got lucky as they was no restrictions on spending and in the 00's outspent United RS Arsenal combined every summer.

Spending the GDP of Sudan every summer wily nily is dead, you have to bypass many stipulations of Turnover and most important wages to turnover below 60%,Usmanov will have a massive job of improving a turnover barely over a £100 million into a club in the £400 million Plus bracket that RS City Arsenal and Chelsea will be by the 17-18 season.

To be fair, historically WRD has been absolutely spot on, this summer he's not been able to get the info as correct as previous years.

Usmanov has one adopted son - who he adopted when he was 19 and he married his mom mate - he's now 42. I fully believe that stating he would leave it as a legacy was a attempt to put pressure on the Arsenal Board to give him a voice in the club, by insinuating he wasn't going anywhere and wa sin there for the long haul. I doubt seriously that he feels a mass of paternal instinct to someone who was already a grown man when he got to know him like.

As for the money from the Arsenal shares, really it's a drop in the ocean to him mate, Usmanov has donated more in gifts to art museums, charities and sports foundations than those Arsenal shares are worth - probably 3-4 times over.

With the super wealthy like the City Sheikh, the Chelsea and Arsenal Russians I do not think their investment in football is profit driven.

Obviously, they are not in it to lose money, but they are already massively wealthy. We see estimates of their wealth, but they are only guesses with nothing firm to back it up.
The investments are as much about power and prestige as it is about profit.
I don't think normal business rules apply.
