I'd like to highlight that I am not responsible for you tagging one of the administration team in.

Pipe down, ya?

Thats right Bizz try to silence those that expose you and you alter ego's. What have you done with the real Esk ayy ?

Again, not convinced at all by this argument.

There is a strong school of thought that Abramovich was extremely keen to get his money out of the country at that time by any means. He's pumped vast amounts of cash in, sure - but if he sells tomorrow he'd recoup it easily. Or at least he'd lost a relatively slight churn for the flipside of having kept his dosh safe and clean. Power and prestige? He was a member of a state Duma. He was personal friends with Putin and Yeltsin. He has unimaginable power and influence - far more than being able to give Di Matteo the boot.

City? Fits in with their portfolio of Emirates promotion and rehabilitation of the state image abroad. It was also said that by buying the club, they helped an old political ally (Thaksin Shinawatra) out of a bit of liquidity bind.

These lads are not just boffing the dosh up the wall.
What is Abramovich worth ,8 billion, 10 billion, 15 billion ?
The level of wealth is hard to comprehend and it is not as if the making of the wealth has stopped, it is probably increasing. The investment in Chelsea will not increase his wealth substantially and if it were for profit only there would have been better investments available at the time.

The wealth in football has made the investments in football a sound investment, but only over the last three or four years and it is difficult how far into the future it will last.

I have always been told that the first thing that the rich and powerful lose interest in is money. For them it is easily made and not a challenge.
Building a legacy that will last after you are gone, that is the challenge.

Always wondered whether Usmanov and Moshiri aren't playing a long game here . Cutting Moshiri away and allowing him to resurrect previously struggling Everton, would put pressure on the Arsenal board. Just think if we performed better than Arsenal over the coming seasons the pressure from their fans may force change. It would be like 'this is what you could have'. Seems like he's tried everything else anyway.

Watford owners own Udinese, Watford and Granada I believe.
FA don't want owners owning more than one club in England I think.
Basically the Watford owners buy and sell to themselves for decent rates lol
Chelsea are no better, they basically own Vitesse Arnheim and flog their kids to them and get a loan fee as a source of income for each season. Surely something to do with FFP @The Esk ?

They are surely walking a thin line. Imagine two got into Europe in the same group. Madness. Rules would change then I imagine haha

I was thinking the same a couple of weeks ago.

I am interested in the rules relating to family members being involved in different premiership clubs, is it completely forbidden under all situations ?

If Usmanov were to retain his interest in Arsenal , is there any circumstances in which his son could become involved at Everton. I assume that some of his fathers wealth must have fallen his way by now and daddy Usmanov might like his son to be tutored by a successful businessman like Moshiri.

I have zero % of your experience or knowledge in this stuff. But.

I think @bluestevon mentioned the "life long Arsenal fan" is over egging the cake somewhat, and that his only kids is in fact a step son who he first met when he was 19, and is 42 now. So, the parental line looks a bit flimsy. To me anyrate. If I have miss read that, then soz, mods delete.

Then, this lockout stuff with him being stonewalled by Kronke; as a multi billionaire, (Russian), wouldnt that slightly annoy you, being frozen out/out boxed, by a Merican?

So maybe the motive might not be diversity of holdings, or capital return, etc, it might just be the Russian pride that we hear about? I.E. Sod him, will destroy him as a competitor.

I do appreciate that all that sounds more like a Jeffery Archer "Novel" (sic), but there is a weird logic to it.

I suppose my biggest question is your assertion that Kroenke gains nothing from acquiring all of the shares. If Kroenke assumes that the Premier League will continue to grow and be profitable, and that there will continue to be interests in purchasing top flight clubs in England, then the value of the shareholding will rise as will the prestige from owning a club.

Kroenke has shown in his American sports teams no desire to actually succeed on the field of play or in any way that one would normally consider sporting success. He cares about making incredible amounts of money. If he assumes Arsenal's value will grow, then there is a clear profit-motive for him.

And in American sports (we have to remember this matters here, as Kroenke is American and an owner of American teams) pro-teams are an incredibly good investment for the ultra wealth presently. Teams bought for peanuts are selling for hundreds of millions, regardless of their level of success. That's largely due to no threat of relegation and obscene television money...both of which apply fairly well to Arsenal.

He may also just get off on winning.

While I respect your opinion, and have no idea whether Usmanov is interested in Everton, I also don't think the argument that Kroenke has enough shares for a majority is airtight, knowing what we do about the man.
