He's miles better than anything we have, yes.

Obviously the worry is him settling into a new league but he has so much power and energy I can't see the adaptation being an issue. Throw in the fact we look to be going for Doucoure too and in two players we've transformed our midfield into something resembling competency.

Maybe, given his lack of game time since Gattuso came in, he'll take a bit to get back to full sharpness but really excited if we get this one done. He's a properly, properly good player.

Big factor for me is it looks like this is the main one Carlo wanted, his main man who he can trust and the type of character he obviously feels we are lacking. It seems Allan also feels the same so I'd expect him to come straight in, hit the ground running and make a big impression on the rest of the side.

My feeling is that Coleman will be club captain and Holgate + Allan the 'Sergeants' on the pitch.

Allan may have been affected by the napoli 'ultras' attacking his home while his mrs was pregnant:

Allan's house was broken into while Piotr Zielinski had his car vandalised by furious fans amid the fall-out with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

There are players like Fabinho and Casemiro who get in the Brazil side but its always been a mystery to me how Allan isnt in the team. They dont usually have a player in centre mid with his skillset though, more deep so perhaps thats why.

I think hes as good as they come really and if he was 25 or 26 the worlds best teams would be in for him. Im hopeful that under Ancelotti he may be able to transition to a deep midfield anchor as he gets older as well.

Little bit surprised Mourinho hasnt gone for him as he seems an ideal mourinho player, also hed be great for some other teams, even Liverpool.

Wouldnt be shocked if hes competing with Richarlison for everton player of the year this season.

Having just turned 30 a couple of months ago, it does my head in that people are having concerns that his legs are gonna go any minute.

I’m not ready to give up on playing for the blues one day ffs.
