But at the moment we're short on the right. We need a player for the right. Bernard, Iwobi and Gordon are for the left. If a good offer comes in for Bernard, sound, but there's other players that need to go first. And if Bernard goes we're then one injury away from needing a player for the left all over again. So the offer needs to be good.

You obviously rate him, fine I don’t I think he’s bang average. And wouldn’t get a look in at any of the top 6. And we don’t 3 players for the left hand side

Well no. I think he has talent but has, overall, been average for us.

You said he doesn't offer enough in terms of goals and assists – I agree, but just thought it worth pointing out that last season he had more goals and assists than any of our other midfielders.

If a good offer comes in and he's judged surplus to requirements, so be it. But there's other players which need to be off the books before him.

Is this Bernard you're talking about?

If so, I thought he was decent enough in his first season; brought a lot out of Digne, and was someone you could rely on look after the ball.

I wonder if something went on behind the scenes last season. He barely got a look-in, and when he did play there seemed to be a distinct lack of enthusiasm.

Didn’t Bernard have personal health issues for a bit last season?

He did an interview on the Everton YouTube channel I think talking about having panic attacks. I suffered with them for several months about 18 months ago and they are quite debilitating. I can imagine it would have had a big impact on his ability to perform.

Than that may plain his drop off in form this season. Thought his and dignes partnership was promising season before last. Some gamesBernard was a real handful for teams
