That’s fair enough Degsy, over the thirty minutes he plays he’s not great but does two or three things okay, it’s the other sixty minutes that worries me, after the final whistle he really comes to life as the cheer leader, he was born to be one of those!!
No, £30mill isn't what it was and yes he's young and has 'potential' (see Barkley) but I ask myself have we had £30mill performances.
Some players take a season to 'bed in' and it's not been the best team to play in.
Also...
What is his 'best' position ? Or is he a Mid Field version of Godfrey - gets by by being big and athletic.

*Puts tin hat on; maybe he's the sort that needs better players around him - if so, we'd maybe be better off trying to make a profit on him, because waiting for better players might be a long wait.

Obvs if he scores the goal that keeps us up then all bets are off.

I see we're in the "he was crap all along" phase of Everton support, in preparation for his inevitable summer sale. We shouldn't sell him (unless we go down, in which case sell everybody).
No In the he’s average and I’ve never watched him in a game and thought wow he’s a different class to what we have, and if he was this 60-80m player that’s spoken of on here by some I’d be in awe of his talent. I’m not the thing I remember most is a decent tackle or him gesturing to the crowd to make some noise

You’re not watching the same game then. For a 21 year old, first season in the league, mediocre manager until just recently, and surrounded by zero creativity, hes done very well and will only get better has he taps into his massive potential.

Cant believe people are trying to sell Amadou while we have the likes of Tom Davies still rotting a hole in the bench. Unless it’s stupid money, he has to be here next season.

I think a few were laughing about me saying if Caicedo is worth £80mil (that had been quoted, after £70mil was rejected) then Onana isnt far off that.

Then the media began with Arsenal/Chelsea links of £62mil - £70mil...

But some posters are freely admitting they cant see anything in his play. I think its more on them than anything else.

Hope hes moved to DM next season and contract is extended.
Arsenal Chelsea potentially looking at bidding 70 plus million for a 21 year old who just captained FIFAs number 1 ranked country. Everton forum top critics think Tom Davies should step in for a bit until he shows some consistency.

To the people who are so keen to cash in on the demand for his services, we sold richie for 60 and Gordon for 40 what did produce in terms of incoming recruitment? We finally acquired a player that oozes potential and in my opinion I think he's typically a major asset when we play despite displaying moments of rawness, he's in the infancy of his top flight career it usually takes time to fully adapt to the rigorous and frantic nature of the premier league. He definitely makes a difference in the midfield, I cant fathom the poor game shouts for the Tottenham match, if we had an forward player capable of scoring a goal on the regular we would of won because he was constantly bringing the ball up creating opportunities. I also agree with posters who believe it hasn't been established what role he is best suited for so that also muddies perceptions. For me he is one of the sparse positives that exist in this wretched calamitous season

Come on though, talk of £70m based on what we've seen so far? If that's the bid coming in then we need to say good luck and goodbye. Even if he was to reach the peak of his potential I can't believe there would be a bid that much higher at any stage of his career.

Cool story, bro.

He’s done very well? We must be watching different games he’s not a bad player at all but the way some go on in here like he’s a superstar already absolutely baffles me he’s got a lot of improving to do with his game so hopefully he starts tapping into that massive potential soon.

Id add myself to this point as well.

Did you not see how effective he was against Spurs at least?

Also seen how slow he was on the ball how poor some of his passing was and didn’t think he got involved in the game enough. I’m not knocking him just think the way people go on about him on here is over the top hate to see how they would act if Rooney was coming through now

He'd be called utter garbo cuz he miscontrolled a ball that one time or missed a header or something and the pitchforks for the transfer request would be out.

Then shocked picachu when he goes somewhere else and is great.

I think most agree the potential is there and we see if in Glimpses. Had we some decent attackers I think he'd thrive a bit more, but ultimately he's still young and needs to tidy up a bit which will come in time.

Just love the fact the foreign senior international 21 year old who goes to the WC isn't good enough and never will be apparently, while the same people cryarse about "academy products" that need a chance at age 23 with no senior games lol

Or actually tolerate the idea of Tom Davies.

“If he scores the goal that keeps us up then all bets are off” Well it will make him very popular if he does, it won’t make him a better player.
