Just think next Sunday night he maybe the new Barry Horne or Gareth Farrelly - no point character assassinating him till after Bournemouth.

The lad simply can’t read the game to go with his many other faults, at the moment he is getting a game because of a very small and limited squad.Slightly more disapointed him stopping and switching off for the goal rather than bringing down traore. One quick look to his left and he would have seen the wolves player totally unmarked. Maybe thats why we're 4th from bottom. All the players were ball watching, none had awareness of unmarked players arriving.
The problem with Onana is that he has a tendency to coast through games and you barely notice he's on the pitch. I guess it's normal for a 21 year old learning the game, but it hasn't helped our cause.
From a business point of view we have to sell him if we get a decent offer. He might develop into a superstar but also based on what we've seen there's a good chance he might not. We're not a top 10 team like Brighton who can nurture and wait for a talent to improve. We need better players in the squad right now.
100%. Garner has come in and if you gave everyone the option of who should be first on the team sheet in that midfield area, 99% would say Garner.
We certainly need more than a 33m cheerleader next week thats for sure.
That's a bit of an over reaction. You either buy seasoned players, but they have lower ceilings and not much chance in the way of selling on for more than what you paid or like in this case we have bought someone with all the right attributes to go to the top, the chance to generate a large profit but you have to expect those players to make more mistakes as they are still learning.
Although granted we did overpay for that promise in this case, but again that's due to how good he could eventually become. I'm sure we would make our money back on him and he deserves some patience.
For the price paid, we needed a player to come in and contribute almost immediately.
We got a high-potential apprentice.
When we go down, reality will bite and he'll go anyway.
If we somehow survive, his fee will be needed to pay for any rebuild. He's not what we need right now. Cash in time.
I had a suspicion of that of a few weeks ago but was called out for it. He knows clubs are after him, and for all the cheer leading and crowd rousing, his impact on the pitch given his obvious ability is extremely limited which makes me think is a cynical application thing. I don’t blame him for being inconsistent - that happens with kids his age, but I’d be very surprised if he is not out the door in the summer and he knows it.i think he knows he’s goin in the summer and try’s to kid us with this cheerleading rubbish
I'm certainly not blaming Onana. I'm blaming those who bought him. He is not what we needed. But he should fetch a few quid in the summer and then he can cheerlead a new set of supporters. Everyone's a winner. Not going to be the first player new to the EPL who takes time to settle in... Given he is in and out of the side match sharpness is going to be an issuse.
Bad style blaming this lad for Everton predicment.
I think he’s too big of a luxury player for us in our situation. He just looks like he’s best suited to a top-6 side where collective hard graft of better players around him makes him look better despite him offering very little.I had a suspicion of that of a few weeks ago but was called out for it. I’m always having a go at him, and there isn’t anything sinister, I don’t see the world that way. If I slated Pickford, it’s not because he’s from Sunderland, it would be because I thought he was crap (which he isn’t).Played fine and worked hard, should have took the foul but didnt.
The hate for him borders on sinister
Yep I’d agree with thatI think he’s too big of a luxury player for us in our situation. He just looks like he’s best suited to a top-6 side where collective hard graft of better players around him makes him look better despite him offering very little.
I haven’t seen him take a game by the scruff of the neck and drag us forwards. Unfortunately he’s been a passenger for us too many times.
