The key is successful tackle amount, not percentage.

He can make 1 out of 1 tackle all season with a successful rate of 100% so don’t read too much into it.

He is in the low average bracket when it comes to tackle attempt. Hardly impressive.
I get that...... I too can read an understand how numbers work. Go us! ;)

As @Zatara said a day or two back, he's suffered a little by being shoved around. If he was more fixed as an anchor it's likely he'd have more tackles than the number shown above.

Would I trust him alone with the job of shielding the back 4 by himself, not yet. But he's clearly pretty good in the tackle. (and his distribution is far better than Gana)

I’d love to see him form a partnership alongside Garner, I think he’d benefit from having a more composed player alongside him. I think he’s looked like he could be a top player at times this season, but more often he’s looked very average and not had as much impact as you’d hope he would. If somebody wants to offer us big money, I’d sell him and got the best striker or strikers that we can attract and afford. If we’re looking to build a team for the future, Onana is a young player who we should look to keep. There are several other players we should sell first, but they won’t bring in the same £ as Onana, and we badly need a striker. Hopefully we sell the dross and hang onto Onana.

On the Men In Blazers podcast, Fabrizio Ramano says Onana loves the club is "not desperate to leave." Discussion starts at about 1:25:

Interesting, he confirmed Chelsea wanted him in January.

Onana chose to stay.

So for all those who dont recognise his talent but like those who "get the club"...

...hes put you in an awkward situation here.

It's crucial this summer that this lad is sold for a big fee to free up funds. I don't think he's an awful footballer but the fees being mentioned are too high to turn down.
